Why I picked Garen into this match up

I actually really like Garen as a champion. I find him fun even if he is somewhat basic. I've recently started putting in some games on him and I really feel the same way. It feels like in most matchups you are giving up any early game priority and taking a back seat until you scale up. Once you scale Garen feels quite nice. I personally Like the deadmans (depending on the game ofc) for the purpose of being illusive. The great part about Garen is that you can clear the waves with your E so you don't need to proc deadmans and lose movement speed. (obv sometimes you will need to so you can secure cannons for example). What is nice about this is that it really helps you push those lanes and rotate quickly. Even if nothing happens on your rotation you have so much movement speed you can go back or even create pressure by running through spots you normally wouldn't be able to. Just hold on to your deadmans passive, q and w through anything that might slow you (using whichever skill or order that is effective in the given scenario ofc) and you can pull them around on a string. If you get chunked out by taking damage, no problem. Garen passive late game is super strong. Deadmans has that Tenacity and it makes you really hard to catch. Some games I wouldn't recommend it. Anyways, Garen feels strong but really weak in some ways. Great champ, not so great in the current meta I think.

you usually dont want to auto before E when you hard trade level 1 on Garen, can avoid a lot of the minion dmg

is it really not basing or is it greeding the canon and losing flash and 300hp on a bounce when you're aware that 2 waves will crash and the jungler might be on the way to dive you?

cuz Conq gives Garen more power in extended fights. You can still take Phase if you are in a ranged matchup so you can either disengage or get onto them easier but against bruisers ppl just take Conq most of the time

Phase rush got nerfed, it used to be way better meanwhile conq garen plays a lot more like a normal bruiser in terms of power spikes and hasn’t been changed. It’s just a playstyle diff he says he knows about phase rush just doesn’t do it

I really think you forgot the fundamentals, you pushed two waves and kept pushing into tower. I would say after lvl one trade and two wave crash you should of forced him to play out the bounce and try to freeze or go for kill. At the least you kept yourself open for a gank by not letting it slowpush back.

nah, he just wanted to do 2nd wave crash into 4th wave crash and recall, but he greeded and stayed
