The video is amazing, but I think at 15:15 according to the drawing, in the calculation of NPSH available Z must be negative too since the suction is made from a lower altitude, this formula is valid if you have the reservoir above the suction level.

Well explained 👍. My question is, if we are having closed tanks, where do we take our points on bernoulli equation (Top of the tank or at the bottom of the tank or at the exit of the tank). Additionally, will it be also considered as atmospheric pressure?

I have few questions here: So if we have selected the efficiency based on the curve and calculated our power input? what is the difference between power input and the power consumption in pump curve? Some pump curves gave us the horsepower too. In this case, how shall we determine the efficiency and determine which pump to go?

In introduction, You have said that you encountered the differences between theoretical knowledge and practical application in sizing&selection about centrifugal pumps at industry. What can we mention more about these differences that you felt? Can we say that the video is more connected to practical application experience of yours or the opposite more theoretical?

What will happen pump is run much below its rated head like outside the performance curve, other than low efficiency. Why cant a pump run at zero head
@eduXinsight3 жыл бұрын
it is an indication that the pump impeller has damaged if all other pump parts are ok like sealing, bearings, etc. Regarding the second point, there is no point to run at zero head. But if you run at zero head pump will go on cavitation and damaged and pump efficiency will be close to zero.

For example if i have a 25m3 @ 12 kg rated pump and i put it in line where required pressure is only 5 kg. How will my pump perform.. will i have to throttle the pump... And what will happen to required npsh
