Edward Gal and Totilas were just a dream team .... But Totilas life itlself didn’t went into a bad life , Rath was just the wrong rider

Gal is a techniqually perfect rider, but sadly he's been using LDR and rollkur with Totilas and as it's looking right now Total US too. You can clearly see he is in pain, swishing tails is a sign of pain and you can clearly see that the horse is hurt just by looking at them. R.I.P Totilas, you deserved better. God had plans with you, but people ruined the plans. This is like putting a stack of rocks on top of each-other and taking the bottom one out, boom, they all fall down.

I was front row for this freestyle in 2009 and the entire crowd was captivated and transfixed by this incredible pair. After the final salute the room was electric, everyone erupted into applause and a standing ovation knowing what we has just witnessed - A one in a million horse in perfect harmony with his true partner, Edward Gal, and at their peak. This is how I choose to remember Totilas.

Great to see this beautiful horse once again with a good rider. What a shame, that he was sold to Germany and given to a rider who was absolutely unfit for a horse like Totilas. Gal was able to celebrate so many great moments with this horse, even breaking a record while Rath just rode him from one injury to another. I'm still so increddibly sorry for Gal, that he had to give up his champion. These two had been such a beautiful pair to watch and I wish that they could have had more time. Now Totilas can finally be happy again. Run free, beautiful champion!

You can tell he's trained using rollkur, poor horse. Can you imagine what a spectacular horse he would have been if he were classically trained? He would have really been a star instead of a controversial argument. It's a pity he never really competed against Valegro.

@thegojotoyournanami he is weak and hollow behind the saddle, he isn't tracking up and his hindquarters are out behind him not underneath him. His poll should be the highest point and his face should be just in front of the vertical. Instead of teaching him to use his back and become round they have just hauled his head in using force.

@thegojotoyournanami maybe and he is a stallion which also gives them a bigger neck. But you can't ignore the rest of his body. Also he has that really extravagant movement in front which doesn't match his hind legs and that is also a sign of rollkur being used.

He's the best rider ever. He exhibits no changes. You see corrections but they seemingly come from nowhere. I've never witnessed anything like this. Totilas's movements are so bold, strong, and confident! It's truly pleasing to watch these two masters doing what they do best. However, my favorite part of any good dressage test is the end, when the rider gives praise to his/her horse and you can tell they know they've done well.
