Yes, me,too-poor Edward,so badly misunderstood-Jim ought to know Edward really did not cut Kim on purpose,as Kim tries to tell him @ about 1:35,"I'm OK,Jim,truly,it was just an accident!" And Jim really is too much @ 1:47-"You touch her again, and you're dead! Honestly, you can't touch ANYTHING without ruining it! Wherever did you come from, and who died and gave you the right to be of this Earth? So just get the hell out of here, and go back where you came from! GO! Scram! Beat it!" But at least Jim does get what's coming to him for this mere moments later, when Edward does indeed go back where he came from, though only because it's his choice, even if it really is for the best.

I watch this movie every year on Christmas night(not Christmas Eve, the evening of December 25, it’s become a tradition), and aged granny Kim’s last words to her granddaughter as the movie comes to a close ALWAYS bring tears to my eyes, as she speculates that to this day, after all these many years, Edward probably still is up there in that mansion, adding “Sometimes, to this day you can still catch me dancing in it!” and the next thing, the last thing we see as the movie ends is Edward-he IS INDEED still alive, sculpturing away in eternal bliss, NEVER to die.
