@woodandmetal. The steel is heated to cherry red in the beginning to anneal or soften it, as a file is very hard steel. That makes it easier to cut, grind, and drill pin holes in it.

Sehr schönes Messer Edward.... und sehr sauber Gearbeitet das Werkzeug.Aber für mich als Bushcraft Fan wäre bei mir der Griff im Gesamten definitiv zu klein.Der Griff muss Markante Riefen haben Griptschnisch gesehen und somit auch sehr gut zum Dickere Äste Shoppen geeignet.Sprich hinten dicker zulaufend damit die Hand nicht raus rutschen kann.Dann braucht Mann auch keinen Fangriemen mehr .Und was noch cool wäre ein StahlHammer oder so die Art am Griffende eingebaut.Wow das wäre echt ein Traum Messer.Stahl Fulltang kann ruhig 440c sein.Rostträge+Gut zum nachschärfen im Vielleicht hast ja Bock so eins zu Bauen als einfache Anleitung für die Community 😉 zum nach Bauen... Lieben Dank und Gruß.Mathias😎👍
