The HS4s are only $30 more. Might as well get those unless you have a really tight space. I am gonna upgrade my Eris 3.5 to the HS4’s soon.

I hope u don't spend the price of hs-4's to get an extra half inch in woofer size. It genuinely won't make any difference if u get hs-4's. Go right to 5/6 inch monitors or plan on getting a sub with your 4 inch monitors 🫡

I’m using the hs5’s for years and also had the hs8’s in a bigger room years ago. I love em, i know em, i enjoy em still. I know listening to a KZbin video isn’t really accurate, but those hs3’s don’t sound that pleasant to me tbh. Especially next to the ones you compare them with.

Perhaps a couple monitor speaker iso pads (ear level) to eliminate 'wolf tones' and thereby achieve a more accurate mix. Table reflections, even on iso pads, also throw off the ear. The best I've heard is monitors on stands with a mastering sidecar front and center, no desk. You have a nice voice. The mic comparisons are helpful. Thanks.

It would have better if they included some sort of radiator on the side so you can at least get some low end out of those.

Edward, your voice sounds really nice in your singing videos and recordings. I love them. May I know what headphones or monitors you personally use to mix/master those recordings?

Hi! I'm glad you like the singing test comparison! For mixing these comparison I use a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X headphones (sweetwater.sjv.io/daYday), and the monitors I use are the Adam Audio A8H (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYrOZph6bdWciLs)

I have been playing for a week with the HS3 and volume is so low that not sure if I got bad ones or that's how it supposed to sound. Its gets worse when using it with a DAW, have to increase the volume so much so I can get them loud enough to hear what I'm tracking. My Logitech 60w PC speakers are insane loud compared ro the HS3. Even using headphones they are not loud enough, did a test with the headphones out of my interface at 100% vs the HS3 at 100%, the interface was so loud it hurt my ears vs the HS3 they were just nice to listen. I May send them back because not sure if that's how they supposed to work.

@@markrogers7304 Good call. I ended up keeping them, was lazy and dint bother to send them back. I exhausted my testing and seems that my 2i2 is not pushing too much power, but still, they are not loud enough.
@markrogers7304
@markrogers7304 13 күн бұрын
@ecorona21 believe me, it's the hs3's. The speakers are what has the amps, 2i2 should be fine. I use a Motu 4. I just got the hs5's and wow, such a huge difference. The hs5 makes the 3 sound like cheap toys. No comparison. I use mine for mixing some but I run my guitar into the motu and use a amp modelers, the hs5 gets much louder. I've got the volume turned just over half up then run motu just about half and it's plenty loud. They remain clear and very accurate sounding. Very pleased with them.

Depends where you are.... In Australia, HS3's are not much more than Eris 3.5 (non-BT). Meaning Eris 3.5 are way overpriced and I doubt these two are even in the same quality basket?

For me, all "Eris" just for listening and mixing. But for enjoying reasonable sound, the HS are clearly preferable. The Eris are just too sharp in the ears, no matter whether Eris 3.5 or 4.5 or 5 it hurts my ears, they sound so sharp to me. The Yamaha sound honest and neutral and not ear-shattering like the Eris. That's why Eris is a no go for me and Yamaha thumbs up! :)

Not everyone has the space even if they have the money. Apart from that, you can just add a subwoofer. If brand put a mode that cuts 120hz an down, giving a little bit of powering up the rest of the bass, so you can use an external subwoofer, that would be awesome.

i would say: grab a pair of monitors that can reproduce well the sub bass. Don't worry about your room size. And add good headphones to double-check the bass. Trap has this importance mainly on the sub/bass. That's why. (My opinion, not a recommedation)
