I bought a key fob from the original video. It’s now $99. I called several Honda Dealers in NYC how much it’ll cost just to program a key fob and everywhere said $130 and up! I also asked them how much a key fob is and they also said $130 and up! So a total of $260 and up for everything! So I got in contact with legit locksmith and he charged me $60 to program the key fob! And it works!! Thank you all!

IT WORKS! I just had my 2018 Accord Sport with 2700 miles programmed to a driver 1 EXL key fob this morning! I am so thrilled this worked, after many phone calls and lots of convincing I finally got the dealer to perform the work. All said and done with it was $179 out the door in Lex, KY. That's cool man. I had remote start on my Civic Touring and I honestly never used it. And I live in Canada. Kinda pointless if the heated seats don't come on, especially with those ice-cold leather seats. So I got myself an LX and the cloth seats are never cold...or at least not as cold as the Touring's leather seats. Sometimes common sense is a better life-hack than spending extra money for features that look nice on paper but are useless in actuality.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to confirm that this DOES WORK. I bought the key from Hondaparts for $60.00. I scheduled an appointment with my local Honda dealer and crossed my fingers they wouldn't ask any questions about the fob. Long story short, no questions were asked, they charged $60 to program it, and it worked! Also, for anyone wondering, your old fobs will still work. The service guy was walking out with me to make sure both fobs worked. As we are walking up to the car I attempted the remote start, it worked, and I thanked him for putting remote start in my car. His mind was blown to say the least. As I'm driving away he marched in surely telling his team what just happened. Thanks for this amazing video!

Works for Hybrid the key also! The Android head unit screen is also an actual android tablet that has an open source SDK, so you can add KZbin, Netflix and Googel browser, etc....There is also a hack to make the Led front and back running lights go sequential (Knight Rider or Psylon Style) for turn signal use. Super sick!

As far as my knowledge you are correct on the head unit being an Android tablet basically which can be cracked and hacked problem being is bootloader locked and as far as I know it has not been done yet older model Hondas have had their android-based head unit cracked but not the 2018 or 19 Accord yet I could be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure and things like KZbin Netflix and Google browser cannot be loaded in until after the bootloader has been unlocked and just FYI for anyone thinking about digging into this without any knowledge you can seriously screw up your system if you don't do it correctly so don't attempt unless you have an expert to level in bootloader unlocking and rooting

@@dgillsco no it won't app was not designed to work with the sport model there is APK files missing on the sport model entertainment system now with that being said if you were extremely handy in Android hacking you could technically extract the APK file from a ex model and then add it to a sport which is not easy to do considering they are locked down with locked bootloaders so it's not a simple task at all but technically and theoretically that would work

Yes that's what I meant all Honda Accord with the exception of the 2.0 come with a CVT and a normal type shifter doesn't matter if he s or touring trim but on the sport model and the LX you have the option to get a 6-speed manual transmission but if you don't know about cars the shifter and the sunroof is a dead giveaway between 1.5 into 2.0

The only addendum I would make to this would be you'd need the keyfob for a 1.5 EX or 2.0 Sport/EX... The EXL model will work too but it has the "Driver 1 (or 2)" on the back and that would mess with my OCD since the Sport doesn't have memory driver seat.

Cool..Will it work with the Civic Sport Hatchback? I think the new Civic Sport Sedan already had remote start, if I'm not mistaken.. I know the 2019 Civic Sport Hatchback does not have keyless entry/pushbutton start and the upgraded/updated radio and 8 speakers, the the remote is an accessory option.

Looks like Honda saw this video. These remotes are now VIN controlled. You need an EX and above trim level VIN in order to get one from Honda. I’m sure they’re still available on eBay.

I don’t doubt that the LX shouldn’t work. Push button start come standard for all Accords in Canada. Production of these cars doesn’t really change regardless of their destination country. Having worked at an automatic plant I know this to be true.

Edward, I would assume remote start behaves the same way like on EX and higher trims, in that the interior temperature defaults to 72 degrees, and the front and rear defrosters turn on when the outside temperature is around 40 degrees?

That is one question I had as well because I just got it done and when I push remote start I noticed though events don't even come on nor do the defroster. Unless the dash doesn't come on and they just blow air because I'm outside the car looking in and none of the lights light up on the dash

My only caution is telling customers that this will work. If Honda does not officially support this they can code out this feature at any time in a software update. So explain to your customers that it works but not supported and use at your own risk.

a software update to stop this would have to be per car in person at a dealership so you can stop it from happening just dont allow an software recalls after you get it done over the air updates only update radio software the key code are stored in ecu which cant be touched by the over the air updates
