Yes, a man should invest in HIS woman. However, both a man and a woman should only start off first with only investing their time in getting to really know one another to see if they're actually compatible with one another to see if their lives line up whether they are high value or not. Exactly what is it that women expect for a man to be investing in a woman on a first date and the dates thereafter where they are getting to know one another??? It's great to be high value whatever high value means to you, but it doesn’t mean that something so simple as getting to know someone has to be so extravagant/expensive. As long as it's in a nice and safe environment where they're both, especially the woman, comfortable. People entitlement to other people's money and resources has gots to stop. Of course, if you all are already established in a committed relationship, then you both should be investing in each other in some way that's beneficial to each one's well-being and happiness.
