I first heard this song at Love Center in Oakland on 89th and MacArthur BLVD when we were invited guests in 81

Thank you so much for this! My mother asked me to look this song up. I remember being a little girl, the first song I heard from Edwin Hawkins was "Oh Happy Day", and my soul still rejoices. Thank you again so much for sharing this.

This soulful song just came to mind a few minutes ago so I decided to see if it still sounds as swift as I remember. Yessiree Bob and Bobbett! ‘Ole Edwin Hawkins had “de tetch”. PWG

@RossTucker...that's exactly right, it was in 1981. I was a freshman in college in Philadelphia that year and that's when this album debuted. I remember so well walking into the record store on Germantown Avenue, spotting it and immediately grabbing the cassette and the LP(I was a huge Hawkins Family Fan/Nut then; I still like them a WHOLE LOT!!!) Well, those were the days, smh.....

The 1980's belonged to the Hawkins' and the effect that there music had on us in that decade was carried over from the 1970's where it all began...I too was and still am a huge Hawkins Fan/Nut Darren lol, so we have a lot in common...
