I guide on the chain. That area is insane leading up to the spawn and shortly after the spawn. Albeit the marsh has a bunch of residential fish there is still a ton of fish that move in from the lake into the marsh for the spawn and back out after. In addition there is some really good bottom in the area the anglers where catching them with isolated patches of grass. That plus that particular area receives current both from the marsh and Haines creek. With that being said there some other areas that set up almost identical in Griffen that are often over looked. One being outside the entrance to the marsh SOUTH of Haines creek as well as the offshore grass in the south east corner of the lake. Check out cmap composition layer and you will see very few areas with good bottom and grass. This may help you understand what happened. Thanks so much for sharing your one of my favorite channels on the net and Ive gained so much in so little time from your content. I wish it would have gone different for you.

Saw a documentary on Rick clunn once. Said when he first started fishing tournaments he would stick around after tournament and learn the area where tournament was won. It was only thing I remembered from documentary. This was a great video!

Love that advice you give to high school anglers. I too was a boat captain for my daughter’s high school fishing team. Can’t tell you how many times I encouraged them to keep working hard and keep making good casts because you just never know when a good bass is going to bite. They call me “one more cast Joe” for a reason 😂. Sorry you had a rough tournament by I agree with you that there had to be other bass groups out there on that Kissimmee grass flats. Good luck in your next tournament. We really enjoy your breakdowns of your tournaments. The good, the bad and the ugly

I’ve been through what you went through in my last tournament on Harris. I ran to Griffin. You have to find the greenest, crispy, healthiest grass. And the pontoon boats there are terrible lol. Bass boats are like a honing beacons

I fished Harris Chain tournaments a lot in the late 90s to about 2010 and Griffin will break your heart more times than not. Emerald has been opened up since 2005 or 06, right before Lowen lost his 10lb lead to McClelland. He flipped Emerald for 3 days. The only good thing that ever came from the Harris Chain is that first spot you practiced on the first day is where I invented the Chicken Rig during a BASS Federation Nation State Qualifier in 2007 when that Kissimmee Grass Bed was much thicker. May 2008 issue of BassMaster Magazine, pg14, Alton Jones on the cover. That rig got me a spot in the regionals later that fall on Toho. True! Anyways, enjoy your E Series and tournament recaps, keep up the good work and you'll smoke'm soon!!! God bless!!!

I fish that chain all the time sometimes on that grass in griffin for me is catch a few in a location then it will seem like randoms here then there . Now I have been trying to fish the Kissimmee grass on the other lakes and I have been doing better quality fish than the randoms at least I think you will always catch more through out the day good luck on next one !!!

Hey Edwin u did ur Best and went with ur gut feeling . I think the answer to your question is possibly that the bottom was shell bottom and that could have probably made the difference of why they were not stacked up in there. Keep the Faith. Chico 🐟

Definetly dont take it personal. Im a local, this year has been rough on everyone. There is a lot of debate on reasons, change of weather ex. Record heat, many blame the water management and those spraying for hydrylla but going a little overboard. The reason is debatable but the fishing is hard. But people who fish how you do are the ones who sink into the big girls. You just have to cover as much water as you can and through out the chains thats a lot of water. If you're ever back down I'm off the E channel on the west shore of Lake Eustis. Respond to this ill throw you some of the rubber we "I" use and specific lures

Did you try black and blue speedworm or senko? Florida bass gorge on them in almost every body of water like it's a state law or something. 🤣
@theultimatesteelshooter86103 жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s hard bottom. On the huge hydrilla flats here in Florida you have to find that hard bottom. As you said, it all looks the same but as you know, it’s not

Ya know, I don’t think it’s a place I would give up on per say, if I know it’s a productive area and I am not catching then I’m moving, listen to yourself, if I am to fail then like you said, fish as hard as you can and bring home a lesson if you bring home nothing else.

Don’t feel like you’re boring us with this type of video cause I think I learn WAY more from these than I do a video where you just smash them.
