@@noblesavage9628 Without the power of music, I'm not so sure about whether I would have survived these last three years since I lost my wife and partner. Looking in the mirror when you suddenly find yourself alone after decades of marriage was a difficult experience for most of that time. Music made my life better by helping to fill some part of the hole I had in my heart, and let me get lost inside of the sound for minutes at a time when those minutes were an agony to live through. We built our years together partially on our mutual love of music. She could sing, I don't have any talent, but we could both share the joy music can bring a person. My apologies for using this opportunity to talk about music and what it means to me, both in the past, and the void it's filled lately. Thank you, peace 💚

A Girl Like You I've never known a girl like you before Now just like in a song from days of yore Here you come a knockin', knockin' at my door And I've never met a girl like you before You give me just a taste so I want more and more Now my hands are bleeding and my knees are raw Now you've got me crawlin', crawlin' on the floor And I've never met a girl like you before You've made me acknowledge the devil in me I hope to God I'm talkin' metaphorically Hope that I'm talkin' allegorically Know that I'm talkin' about the way I feel And I've never known a girl like you before Never, never, never, never Never known a girl like you before This old town's changed so much Don't feel like I belong Too many protest singers Not enough protest songs And now you've come along Yes you've come along And I've never met a girl like you before

I wrote this song out so long ago it was before you could just look the words up on-line, and for the first line of the third section I had 'Wave me a college' instead of 'Made me acknowledge'😆. @VICKY1961K3 жыл бұрын
Well, let me help those who will try it... (It's amazing to see two difficult greek origin words in a song like this!!! ). Metaphorically (in greek is "μεταφορικά") means you don't say it literally, you don't say what it is exactly. Allegorically is something similar ( in greek "αλληγορικά") and it means you say something happening but using another story, such as Esopus myths.

The porn star?
@gmail42182 жыл бұрын
@@miamiheatbaby87 No, James Dean was a charismatic actor who died in 1956 at age 24, several decades before I was even born. But his amazing movies will live forever: Rebel Without a Cause Giant East of Eden Among Dean's many acting innovations, he invented the technique of provocatively ad libbing in order to make his fellow actors become enraged in real life, thus resulting in very realistic interactions.

If you metaphysically reincarnated David Bowie and Elvis's voice for a song you'd have Edwyn Collins..... This is without a doubt one of the greatest tunes of any generation! I can't believe he never blew up after this hit...... I also love the video and and especially the two nods in the video when he says... And I never had a girl like you before... It make the song Very personal and believable.

Bowie and Presley are right on for the deep shaky sound he has, except that Edwin is less stylized than either one. A very natural, raw, sexy delivery. Tres masculin,

This was one of my favorite songs when i was really young, like 8-10 years old. I remember listening to it on the radio while my dad was driving. When i was 12 i lost my dad to cancer and after that i completely forgot about this song. One day, around a year ago, i randomly heard it on a sidemen video and i almost freaked out. I managed to find the name, since i never actually knew how it was called, and i burst into tears because i instantly remembered those times when my dad was driving and this song was playing on the radio. Back when my life was pretty much perfect and my dad was still here with me. Now i'm 21, it's been almost 9 god damn years since i lost him, but songs like this help bring back many good memories.

This is a great song and video to listen to and watch around Halloween. I'll never forget how fitting it was when I heard this on the radio in late October 1994 as I was driving around suburban Omaha delivering pizza on an overcast evening during rush hour with autumn in full swing and spooky decor on some houses. It's hard to believe that was almost 30 years ago--the perfection of that moment was so profound that I always get a warm, happy feeling in my gut when I think about it, especially now that we're knocking on Halloween in 2023.
