Sadly on Oct.29th 1977 Ronnie Van Zant (the lead singer) along with Steve Gaines (the guitarist in the burgandy pants) died in a tragic plane crash. 22 others including everyone on stage that you see here were severely injured. The pilot and copilot, Cassie Gaines a backup singer, and sister to Steve, and a crew member also died. RIP and thanks for the epic performance!
