What's so weird about that women shot is none of them even know each other. None of them. Wasp hasn't met any of them, neither has Pepper, Captain Marvel, Mantis, Gamora is from the past, Valkyrie knows none of them. Only Wanda barely knows Okoye and Shuri from Infinity War but why would Okoye separate from her troop she leads? It's like they know there is a camera there, and despite being so unrealistic because none of them even know each other or even met, they all convene to one spot on a crowded deadly battlefield, away from all the men just because they are women. Plus, they say Captain Marvel needs help. That's coming from a guard with a fucking spear. A teenager with some stun guns. One valkyrie on a pegasus. Mantis. The only one there can seriously help is Wanda, who almost killed Thanos. The rest are there just for girl power even though none of them know each other. Why wouldn't the thousands of men on the battlefield - Asgardians, Wakandans, Sorcerers, Ravagers, even edge into that shot. On the other hand, that Wanda scene with Thanos was incredible.

I think a big part of the reason Thanos is so much more resentful of the Avengers despite this version of him never having fought them before, in addition to a lot of what you guys bring up in the video, is that he respected them to a certain degree in Infinity War because he had some level of interaction with at least a few of them before things got violent. He learned that they possessed certain personality traits that he respected - a level of integrity, accountability, and in particular, an ability to accept ones failures and learn from them. The problem is, Thanos doesn't see things in terms of good and evil the way our heroes do. He believes that prosperity requires sacrifice and that failure and responsibility should be embraced as elements necessary for growth. Making it worse is that the time-displaced Thanos doesn't get to see the traits that his older counterpart recognized in the Avengers. So while all of the Avengers see their quest as trying to right the most heinous crime ever committed, he simply interprets their efforts as an attempt to deny their failure, deny their responsibility, deny their growth. To him, this is a childishly stubborn, selfish, and short-sighted view that will render everything he gave up for the universe pointless and imperil everything he thought he was saving. Obviously this infuriates him and destroys any respect he would have had for the Avengers if they hadn't interfered with the timestream. "You couldn't live with your own failure. And where did that bring you? Back to me."

goji3755 , well he saw that he succeeded, and they found a way to undo his work, so he isn’t as smug as his other, no one can stop me now, self. Also, now he knows the cats out of the bag and it’s a race to the gems. Also, also, it’s hinted that he failed in the past, with the failing to sacrifice something he loved, which is why he adopted Gamora... so that stuck with him.
@Seomus

We're seeing the true Thanos. He has this vision of himself as the savior of the universe. But it has to be saved HIS WAY. It is why he doesn't consider any other method. And when he learns that people are going to be grateful to him for what he did, his ego rears. So he'll use this power to make everything over so it's his way from the beginning.

Actually he does see alot of what he had Respected of them...... Well as much as Nebula was able to see. Thanos in Endgame I don't think was done by the same person. He knows Stark in IW he says I like you was cursed with knowledge and yet no reference here no acknowledgement and it would have been a perfect. Thanos even at the beginning of IW didn't kill Heimdal needlessly and we see what he does is based on what he considers necessity especially with Gamora when she was younger. Even the Thanos in Endgame would have been more relaxed and just aimed to whipe the Avengers out as something that is needed. When this Thanos sees Nebula has betrayed him nothing no reaction no emotion based on that action and when he sees his death Ebony is the one to react and there is only 1 thing ge cares about. His failure they speak of is Titan he was powerless to stop his people from facing the same thing he was trying to prevent others to go thru.

Captain Marvel didn't necessarily ruin Endgame but it truly shows the flaws in making her this powerful You have the MCU that has always more less tried to stay within this window of relative power levels for years, no one's ever too powerful where they can't receive help or can't be applicable to future team ups. Iron man was shown to be very strong and powerful but he was never shown to be too strong or powerful for Civil War to work However you just got Captain Marvel to say fuck consistency, she's just super fucking powerful because she's just better than everyone else. Question if you put her in Thor Ragnorok instead of Valkyrie would there be any tension in helping out Thor and Hulk? If she was in Avengers 1, would she be as much of help as Thor, Iron man, and Hulk or could she just do that job entirely herself? I mean how is this character suppose to fit in the MCU when not even Thanos can challenge her, who is she ever going to team up with in movies outside her own solo films that doesn't narratively feel mismatched. I assumed with Captain Marvel the next phase heroes were gonna start getting as powerful as her. Stormbreaker Thor could have more to show than what was in Infinity War, maybe we'll get to see World Breaker Hulk, maybe Iron Man has a new suit on par with them. But no she's just op because.... I don't know, because women?
@moonlightrouge3956
@moonlightrouge3956 5 жыл бұрын
She's op because she's captain marvel not because she's a woman, captain Marvel would be just as powerful if it was the male version. And you already got a peak at how they're gonna handle her power level, she'll only be involved if it's an existential threat, that's why nick fury didn't contact her until last minute. Like the movie said she's in charge of taking care multiple planets not involving earth.

@@moonlightrouge3956 1) Captain Marvel wasn't that OP in the comics, she was never the strongest Avenger, she's lost plenty of times and people like Thor Iron man and Thanos could lay her out. 2) Losing the Tesserect in Avengers 1 is kind of a big deal, a human could have taken over the world with it and Fury had no idea what a God could do with a mysterious glowy cube with infinite power. There's no excuse to risk earth's safety and countless people's lives on a bet that current heroes could handle it cause of how many unknowns would be. Hell with how OP she is, it be no different than having her in the final battle of Endgame as how easy it is for her 3) Having Threats specifically big enough for her to handle limits how she can be used for the MCU. She already didn't fit in Endgame cause she could have easily lightspeed all of Thanos's troops and Thanos himself. Narratively this would be like having DBS Goku in Game of Thrones the power difference in anything he'd be in would eliminate any tension and any manufactured tension would be the result of bad writing. All you can really use her for is any Captain Marvel films not Avengers not any team ups not anything There's literally no excuse to have current heroes and villains relative to each other for over 10 years and then out of no where just say "CaPtAiN mArVeL cAn BeAt Em AlL eAsY cAuSe ShE tHe StRoNgEsT"

@@PurpleColonel Yes, Luke dying alone and fading to nothingness to save maybe a few dozen people without ever truly recovering from Rian Johnson's character assassination (as beautiful an aesthetic Luke dying while looking at the binary suns was) was *totally* better than Tony dying using all 6 infinity stones to ensure the entire universe's safety from Thanos after several movies of character development (with no skips in logical character progression; everything that Tony does makes perfect sense for him to do, unlike Luke, who should have never considered killing a family member let alone his student) bringing him from selfish asshole to what could essentially be Thanos's nemesis, dying slowly as he is reassured by those he loves that he can finally rest, followed by a funeral that nearly brought me to tears as basically the entire franchise sends him off with the memento from the first Iron Man movie, the first portable arc reactor: "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart". I cannot imagine a better sendoff for the character, nor a greater way for him to die. In the source material version, the Gauntlet had no such limitations. In fact, The Snap in that story is a throw away line, Thanos kills all the heroes easily and is just like "Oh yeah, I almost forgot I was going to kill half the universe to impress Lady Death, snap, ok That's done, now back to what we were doing". It actually makes the moment even more horrible because he does it so cavalierly, and that it's all just to impress a girl that's not even into Thanos in the first place. I think the Thanos/Deadpool/Lady Death love triangle storyline would have been far better than the completely made up motivations and plot of Infinity War/Endgame.

One that stood out to me is when Thor was shown all throughout his pre-schlub time, he seemed so determined, angry and withdrawn. And when he took off Thanos' head without a second thought in cold fury and simply walked away with the screen slowly blurring on him, I thought it was setting up a much more vengeful and heartless Thor! I thought he was going to have an arc where we found out he was using his fury and ruthlessness to mask his overwhelming feeling of having failed everyone, being that he was so close to killing Thanos but instead chose to torture and gloat! I was so ready for that! And then we got "mother's basement, NEET Thor. smh And that's just him! There's so much more that didn't sit right...

What more vengeance did Thor have to dish out? How would vengeful Thor work with no one to take revenge upon? Everyone Thor loved has died, and he already had all the revenge he could take, and it left him empty. He already killed Thanos. He thought he had nothing else to lose, but he lost more nonetheless. With Thanos dead, there was nothing more to do in his life. What else is there for him to do? What new meaning is there for him that he would have to stay in shape, to keep fighting for? Nothing. It makes perfect sense for him to fall apart, to fall to drinking, to go out of shape, because there's nothing to stop him from doing otherwise. Fat Thor made perfect sense, and he was damn hilarious. You may not like it, but you can't have exactly the kind of Thor that you want.

@@megashark1013 I understand that everyone Thor has loved is dead, and that's why I thought he would be much more angry and unrelenting. Think about how Hawkeye was portrayed the first time we see him in action (which by the way, I was also annoyed at.) I imagined Thor to be much more brutal, to almost overcompensate for how he failed to save everyone the first time. And all that rage would not be out of righteousness, but as a cover for how he feels he's a failure for having dropped the ball at the most crucial moment. In a similar way how he had to convince Hulk to work with him, and befriend him all over again, we could now have this mellow Hulk trying to return the favor in getting an angry and stubborn Thor to correct his path and move on from what happened. Maybe even with the help of Rocket, who not only has some brief but insightful history with Thor, but could also play the blunt and straightforward delivery guy to Banner's new emotional and thoughtful delivery.

@@MenosGrande00 Alright, that's fair. That actually sounds like a cool idea. But I don't feel like Thor would seek vengeance on random people not involved in the deaths of his friends and family like Hawkeye. I think he would just accept there was no one left to blame for everything after killing Thanos, and try to overcome his grief with a false sense of humour and slobbish decadence. It's more in line with his comedic persona to cover up his feelings of loss and betrayal like in Thor: Ragnarok. Thanos was a target for Thor to bring his rage down upon, but after killing Thanos, the Thor we know wouldn't continue a pointless destructive spree simply to hide his grief, and take out his anger. He's not that kind of person. He's always been the tragic, shattered warrior trying to hide his loss with jokes and messing around rather than Fury and chaos. Plus, the guy turning into a brutal, rage filled antihero after he loses his loved ones is already overdone. Your idea is a good one, but I felt like the direction they went in was a breath of fresh air.

@@MenosGrande00 ''I understand that everyone Thor has loved is dead, and that's why I thought he would be much more angry and unrelenting.'' To who? Thanos? He killed Thanos. Who else after that? Half of the major threats in the universe just poofed out of existence. ''I imagined Thor to be much more brutal, to almost overcompensate for how he failed to save everyone the first time.'' Again, brutal to whom? Thanos? He killed Thanos by cutting off his hand, and then his head, which is what he should have done the first time around. That's the overcompensation. It was hollow, useless, brutal, and left him with a void he tried to fill with alcohol, cheetos, and Fortnite. ''In a similar way how he had to convince Hulk to work with him, and befriend him all over again, we could now have this mellow Hulk trying to return the favor in getting an angry and stubborn Thor to correct his path and move on from what happened.'' It seems I may have been unclear the first time around, please allow me to explain. For starters, there is absolutely no indicator that half of the major threats have been erased. Thanos said that the great genocide would be impartial and fair to rich and poor alike, that means it would be as random as the most random number generator. It doesn't mean half the good and half the bad. Crime still exists, criminals still exist, and it wouldn't be ridiculous to imagine that some big players may have been left untouched. Now, I never said that Thor's rage would have a target. The way I imagined him would have been like an angry dog snapping at anyone that would bring a hand near. I thought that's what we were headed towards, and was even more pushed in that direction when Hulk and Rocket were warned about seeing Thor. I honestly took the delivery of the villager to be one of worry and maybe even fear, not shame or disappointment. Plus, wouldn't it make sense that they might want Thor's friends and battle companions to try and talk some sense into him instead of warning them away? Not gonna lie, I was expecting an ax to imbedd itself into the door after the knock, especially with the camera angle chosen for that scene. I do agree that Hulk and Rocket helped Thor in this movie in the way you described, by the way. However, at this point, we're talking about two drastically different characters, and I'm saying that I would have liked to see how they would deal with a much more merciless god of thunder. Hell, he could have even agreed with the Thanos baby murder plan to show further how much more willing he is to spill blood at the first opportunity, no matter the target.

@@GoblinKnightLeo A lot of the problems with the movie comes from age casting. Since they casted 16-18 year-olds to play 12 year olds, you never get the creepy sense of... hmmm... let's say Tiger Mom the Battle School is supposed to provide. We send teenage boys to bootcamps to fix their anti-social tendencies, so we as the audience go, "whatever." HOWEVER, by casting 8-10 year olds, you get 8-10 year old acting. Which is why I hold that animated films are better than live action. Casting has a bigger talent pool to draw from. Mona Marshall would have fucking nailed the role of Ender, but because she's an adult woman, she can't perform in a live-action version of this movie. Then you get the toned-down violence in this movie, like the fight with Bonzo. In the book, he gets kicked in the nuts and headbutted in the nose to death, and it's clear that he did die from it. In the movie, he slipped on the floor and hit his head. "Help! I've fallen and can't get up!" Harrison Ford is horribly miscast and I don't understand why people keep casting him in anything that's not Indiana Jones or Star Wars. He DGAF. I would have gone with a much cheaper actor like Richard Dean Anderson. Even fat McGuyver would have worked in this movie because Graff gains weight from the stress of his job and the horrors he inflicts on Ender. Much like Captain Marvel, Ender's Game deserves an Unbridled Meh, but I'll settle for an EFAP movie of it.

It's less time travel and more spatial travel in Endgame. The real issue with it being spatial travel is that Captain America wouldn't be able to get back into their universe without being able to use 'time travel' from the universe he visits. It also makes no sense in terms of physics, but oh well. It is time travel after all. In regards to Harry Potter though that form of time travel is dealt with via predestination, which means there's no real concept of free will in that universe. In regards to Hulk, his point is that time travel is conceptionally impossible but that since it's possible to travel through time then something else must be going on. In essence, he's making the case that what they are talking about is not time travel. It's more like interdimensional spatial travel between semi-parallel universes. So what you have at the end of Endgame is plots in two major worlds. There's the 'Thanos Timeline" where Thanos destroys the world and which we're familiar with, and then there's the timeline where Thanos goes to the timeline we're on and subsequently dies. Meaning there's an alternate timeline where Thanos isn't going to be anymore, and it's from that timeline where our new Gamora comes from. Everything kind of works plot wise EXCEPT when Captain America goes onto another worldline and somehow is able to get back onto the Thanos Timeline in orders to meet with Bucky and Falcon. That is a mess and I have no idea how they plan to square that circle, unless they want to start dealing with the issues of having interdimensional travel that isn't initiated from what we'd see as the primary worldline. Though that does open options for new stories like alternate heroes/villains coming into the main universe from other universes, which we saw a bit of in Endgame but which gets real problematic when something like a cranky villain faction starts trying to conquer all of the universes. In short: the infinite worlds problem is a rather big issue. Also in regards to real life time travel: You can slow down time by increasing the effect of gravity or hanging about near a massive gravity field like a black hole, since the passage of time is an effect of particle attraction. You could speed it up by hanging about around something like a white hole (assuming one could actually stabilise) or hanging about in a region of space with less in it. Space isn't as empty as most people thing it is and there is some friction in space but it's so minimal we can barely even register it, like most physics it's complicated but to simplify it: if space was empty then time wouldn't pass the way we perceive it does on Earth in space. Since time does pass in the same way, then the gravity fields are still in flux and that means there's something there even if we can't quite figure out what that is. That something is also the reason why light has a top speed. Anti-matter may also work to speed time up, but have fun trying to get that to work since you'd need to suspend it in either a gravity field or a magnetic fied to get it to stabilise enough for any usage. You can change your perception of the passage of time quite easily though, all we need to do is induce a deep enough sleep to lessen your ability or put you under stress to increase your efficiency when it comes to perceiving the flow of time. But in terms of going backwards in time... yeah not likely to work irl. You're even less likely to be able to accelerate or reverse time's effect on an individual, though you might be able to decelerate it by dropping them into a black hole. Survival is kind of unlikely though.

The Capatin going back thing works actually too, because how can you tell that we aren't on the time line where he did it already? Just because he never showed up prominently before doesn't mean he wasn't there. Endgame is just set on the time line where Steve traveled back, and that works because he's going back along a time line where everything happened as we saw it.

1:40:32 Rags mentions how the movies set up that basically the only family Black Widow has is the Avengers. Well, the Black Widow movie complicates things. It's apparently going to show that young Natasha lived as a fake family with other sketchy Russian people posing as an American family, and they grew close over the years so that in the present day of the movie (between Civil War and Infinity War) she visits them and they agree to help her with whatever's going on. If she had this other family besides the Avengers, why did she never mention them or visit them before? It kind of undermines Black Widow being alone in the world until Hawkeye became her close friend and then they joined the Avengers together. That's the problem with prequels, interquels, and retroactively establishing something as always being there (like shoehorning Captain Marvel into the timeline, or WandaVision saying that SWORD has been around for decades despite no previous movie or TV show hinting at its existence): it messes things up for previous stories. EDIT: It turns out they referenced SWORD in a scene from 2011's Thor that was ultimately deleted for some reason. If they had kept it, it would have helped SWORD feel less like it's coming out of nowhere.

When the Black Widow movie came out, it turned out the guy controlling the Black Widows had infiltrated the governments of the world for decades much like Hydra. Shang-Chi's father the Mandarin had another secret organization operating behind the scenes. How many secret organizations are there!? The Eternals have super powers & have been on earth for 1000s of years but never stepped in to help, not even when the whole world & even the whole universe were in danger. Loki reveals that there's yet another secret organization that works to stop time travel that creates new timelines & immediately destroys any alternate timelines that pop into existence but for some reason they just allowed the Avengers to do everything they did in Endgame. After Eternals there's a giant celestial sticking out of the earth, and in Moon Knight there's a major kaiju fight, but no one ever mentions these again. Doctor Strange 2 establishes the concept of the Incursion, where someone being in the wrong universe (i.e. not their own) can cause that universe to be destroyed, but as shown in No Way Home, 2 extra Spider-Men & a number of their villains doesn't seem to affect the MCU at all. Things are stretched beyond believability, and nothing makes sense anymore. And the decade's not even half over!

Updating as I go: He didn’t destroy the stones he reduced them to atoms so in theory they could come back in the future. Tony’s been working on it in the background as he talks about trying it again but he knows it probably won’t work again.( Could be wrong need to watch again). I agree with Thor he was my favorite avenger favorite marvel character ever. I get they did it in order to keep him around and continue his character they should have still made him a loser but chilled with the fatness and jokes. I’m not in any way defending the confusing rules of time travel I’m sure they will try to explain it more in the future. They are using the multiverse in their time travel theory. So they weren’t changing their timeline they were changing a different timeline. For example the scene with hulk and the sorcerer supreme. She said his timeline wouldn’t change but hers would transcend into darkness without the stone meaning they were messing up someone else’s world not their own world. It’s very confusing and hard to explain im not the best at explaining it but it’s a real world theory.

They didn't need to have him acting like an asshole, but oh yeah, him going all out and not giving a flying fu*k, nor allowing himself to take aby sh*t from anyone? In caracter, no doubt about it. Tanos threw a moon at a group fewer than a dozen people without any hesitation whatsoever, so him going fast and looking all: "sure, I'm here and I'mma waste your share of livable space. Wonder if I can just walk in your neighborhood and kill y'all? No prob, just watch me sucker!" That was literally too much Tanos to be weird. He sent the god of MISCHIEF to Earth alone and let's be frank, utterly unsupervised, exept for a couple of "Space-Skype-check-ups". He's been half-genociding the whole frickin galaxy with a "hands-on" approach for what could be, (depending on if it's the same thing as the comics), centuries, eons, or at least a few decades of slaughter... Yo he ain't got sh*t to do beside that so he'll be patient with Murphy's law, (anything that can happen and should come to pass, will happen eventually), but if he's wrong and he can be both defeated and MADE WORTHLESS, then, he'll do that right away, no more "nice" guy. His mindset in Infinity War was on par with the idea of him being a thousand times better, stronger and more focused than anything he'd ever had the chance to meet or even hear about. Him in Endgame was just a different beast, a culminating force of habit, used and betrayed by the very idea of being supreme in the universe. He was the one being alone at the top, able to wreck the Hulk without breaking a sweat, (didn't need the power stone for that, so he was that strong by default), then, he saw/heard the news: "Tanos win then dies" and THEN, he learned that the hard truth was just about the very opposite direction: "the forces opposed to your very goal are going to win by default, if you don't have a way to remove any and all chance(s) that they might." There was no "?" in his head, just a matter of time and effort wasted. Tanos wasn't able to act with a pragmatic mindset because: A)he saw himself, decapitated. B) Time-travel was still an option after the Infinity Stones had been destroyed, removed as an option. C) He saw/heard the news that the very first threat against him was already partially responsible for taking some of the Stones from his own timeline, so both versions of himself had failed by default if nothing was done from his end. Tanos had his back against the wall and knew that he, (the future version of himself), had never lost sight of his goal and managed to "win" if only for a short-term/span of time, no matter what happened. He going all: "must go faster", was on point with the idea of being the one that couldn't win alone but still able to win if winning meant to be alone at the top once again. That plan was the only way for him to "think things through", to irationally go for a "tactical" way of thinking. His lines of thinking went as far as follow: 1) "I have to get this over with." 2) "There is one planet, (Earth), that is too much for "not me" to handle, but I have to get this over with, so let's just go "all in". 3)"Well, if I can die and did get killed by those guys, well, you know what? I'mma go fu*k your own plan sideways... See how you feel after that, punks!" Finally, he was fine with "half" and if it's "just that simple", erasing one universe and redoing it is a very linear plan. Not just simple, but also smart as a "one-time" option. It's insane, but then again his plan already was insane, both for it being ridiculously illogical and also, for all the "moraly wrong" parts in it. His new plan was just as close to the "good guys" own plan as he could've made it. He was going first with a snap and thus removing anything/ anyone else except for him, then bringing some of it back. The tweak was that he'd bring it all back without the actuall memories of anything else being present to create a risk, so to avoid any further damage, any chance of a person, anything, or anyone, that could think of what was gone from existence. No cause for concern, no one else to be "making problems" for anyone. He was worse than "future Tanos", but from his perspective, he wasn't different in any way. He didn't know what was different from the other version and the version he was? He lended the frickin scepter containing the Mind Stone as a tool and offered a planet, ( Earth), to Loki in exchange for helping him get another ONE STONE!!! After doing stuff like that for so long, Tanos doing away with not some, but ALL POSSIBLE SUFFERING with what? Maybe one out of three, maybe four alterations he'd have to do? He wasn't able to think of it as a "bad" choice and le me make sure it's perfectly clear and logically sound: " Tanos was fine with leaving half the universe to live forever on, remembering that which was lost/killed/erased, because he was crazy enough to think they'd "change their ways", either because they'd fear his wrath or by simply being fewer than before but with the same amount of time and resources to get by with from then and there, until the end of the universe." His first plan was stupid enough, but going from that one to just: "erase everything and everyone else but me, then make some crude adjustments and bring it all back together after removing any knowledge of the changes being made"... That was just about the same level of insane, "but better-er", because he'd bring the risk down to zero percent. The way it was shown in the movie wasn't perfect, but I'm fine with the Mad Titan being a bit more Mad Titan than before... Guess I had to put it out there. isn't a positiv

Well……i can certainly see why E;R was in such high demand for EFAP…………………..charismatic, high energy, captivating and really brought a lot to the discussion……………….. Ah maaaan, watching this well after Thor 4 came out…..their excitement over Asgaurdians of the galaxy……misplaced and such a letdown in the end…Marvel/Disney MUST have know just HOW MUCH a majority of the Fanbase were so excited for it, and they go and throw a 5 minute montage essentially….what a massive waste of a golden opportunity. Alsoooooo….sorry Rag’s….Tony’s last word was ‘pepper’……Ironmans last words were ‘I am ironman’. Tony’s was ‘Pepper’

Well, if this movie's got one positive, it's getting me to try out writing again. I am now starting to work on a fanfic based on Scott Lang getting erased along with everyone else, and no time-travel and snap-reversal ever happening. In which Morgan Stark grows up in a slowly dying world with the population that completely gave up on life, and has to take matters into her own hands to make them _actually_ move on and create something new from the ruins of the old world. I'm actually pumped to try this out, should be an interesting "what if" variable.

The whole Bucky Captain America thing is actually explained in Infinity War. When they were preparing for battle, Black Panther calls bucky the White Wolf. In the comics, the White Wolf was an outsider who came to adopt Wakanda as his home and fight for it alongside black panther. So it does make some sense that the shield is past to Falcon as they have set up Bucky as the White Wolf.

About Thanos, I agree that a change to his character could happen but, given how he behaves in IW, I believe that him going assholish like "I'm going to take pleasure in destroying this planet" is not believable. I'd be more inclined he'd be more in a state of like "These guys must be stopped at all costs for the sake of the universe" and during the fight saying lines like "What you're doing is stupid\I AM Inevitable" and at the end as he disappears say something along the lines of "With time, you'll learn that I was right. You'll learn that what I tried to do was necessary". Instead, he became almost one-dimensionally evil in this sequel. And "Almost" just because he was already set up to be deeper than that in IW.

When I saw the movie, a couple people outright Boo-ed at the Star Wars trailer. That made me laugh. The audience had a fit of cheering or laughing out loud for almost anything. However, not a peep when Cap Marvel was on screen. Not when she does her heroic entrance at the end, not when she saves Tony/Nebula. Only one person next to me did a little "Yeah!" when she started fighting Thanos. Buuuut she also was a teenage girl who was commenting on almost everything. There were more cheers for Pepper Pots. Pepper. Pots. **I think it was stupid that she was fighting in a suit, but dang if my nerd heart didn't love it anyways** I had a little flashback to Rey getting her triple kill in TLJ when Marvel came flying in at the end. Same sudden savior of people getting bombarded on the ground, doing something amazing with the greatest of ease. Same kind of reaction from the people on the ground, with people looking up and cheering. Between that and Thor just saying "i like this one", the movie wanted you to like and cheer for her. But the audience just didn't care.

*Spoilers* My biggest problem with this movie was how it handled Thor. It gave me serious TLJ vibes to see them throw away his development from Ragnarok and Infinity War for a series of fat jokes. I don't buy that he would just give up because he "lost everything" like many fans are saying. Thor already "lost everything" by the beginning of Infinity War. He lost his mother, his father, his brother, his friends, his girlfriend, his hammer, his home, half his people, and he was left out in space to die by Thanos. Was he grieving after all that? Absolutely. But did he give up? No. He almost immediately went to Nidavellir, after being rescued by the Guardians, to create a new weapon. And when asked by Rocket if he's still up to fight after going through all that he laughs his way through his pain saying, "Absolutely... rage, vengeance, anger, loss, regret, they're all tremendous motivators," and that Thanos is in trouble because he has "never fought me twice." And when Rocket asks what if he's wrong about himself, Thor says, "Well, if I'm wrong... what more could I lose?" Thor has already hit rock bottom in his mind by this point and yet he didn't stop for a moment to rest (let alone 5 years). What does this tell us about Thor? He doesn't give up. And when creating Stormbreaker he was willing to nearly die, taking the full force of a star, just for the chance that it would help him in the fight against Thanos. Even after failing to stop the Snap, Thor still had half his people to look after, lead, and console after they arrived on Earth, as he was now their King. By Endgame it looks like he's done none of that, he just completely gave up, letting himself become an obese recluse and playing Fortnite for 5 years. I don't buy it.

Same. I kept wondering how such an impossibly optimistic character would become so utterly nihilistic even though he overcame much worse losses in the previous 2 films. Another great line from Ragnarok, "I choose to run toward my problems, and not away from them, because that's what heroes do."
