I use your "zone passing" method but in an Arena Football stye of play. IMO it is soooo much better than throwing the ball because it is "dynamic." The ball is moving, the WR is moving and so is the DB or safety. Everything is about timing, accuracy,and ball placement whereas throwing the ball is about accuracy alone. Guys.......if you decide to give "zone passing" a try, just know that it IS NOT as easy as you think it may be.

@@EFCAGGIETEAM........no problem. It's an awesome system that brings more realism to the game. One aspect that I lke is the fact that the DBs can actually make a play for the ball and get interceptions. To be honest, I can see a lot of people moving away from the "throwing" QBs once they see "zone passing" in action. You playing an entire season using "zone passing" will help to convince some coaches.

@@EFCAGGIETEAM........one of the things that I messed around with was "how" a QB throws the ball in real life. For example, if the WR is cutting acrss the middle of the field on a quick slant, the QB will most likely throw a fast ball in there. On the flip side, on deeper passes, the QB has to lob the ball and in this case the ball is moving slower and in a arch. The WR has to run the ball down . So I played around with using 2 moving balls. One ball moves fast for the bullet type passes and one moves slower for the lob or deep ball passes. In both instances it still comes down to timing, accuracy and ball placement. Also, this plays into QB intelligence that you always talk about. The QB has to decide how hard he is going to throw the ball and if it is going to be a bullet, lob or deep ball. One thing I have found out using "zone passing" and that is there are levels to it. Coaches and leagues can do so much with this system and IMO it makes the game much more exciting and fun. THANKS for coming up with this. And just a quick side note...................... I have incorporated a few things from the FAT8 system to my solitaire Arena League. For example, no pivots until after the "snap" of the ball. The DBs must be turned to run with WRs and not hold the WRs on the LOS. Every player on all of my teams has a different weight based on your "player weight" chart. The FAT8 system allows for so much more realism.
