Hi Dave, great video as always! You rock! I’ve been burnt by snake oil before. It dawned on me when I noticed my new $70 optical cable had gold plated connectors🤦♂️ Obviously that makes it sound better than any other optical cable on the market!😂 I recently discovered a great, cheap headphone cable, it’s called the Tripowin Granvia. It’s a 26AWG high purity OFC with 36 strand litz structure, it’s often under $50 on amazon. Brought it as a cheap temporary cable for the Arya Organics, as I knew the stock one was trash. Looks wise it’s very understated, and not for everyone, but I really like it. It’s a flat black Paracord (looks better than the pictures) braid, with simple black shrink wrapped connecters. It’s available in 1.5-2m lengths with different colours of Paracord, you can also pick your terminations. It’s very soft and fluid with no memory, and the flat braid sits under clothes nicely. No microphonics, It sounds great, tested against the stock cable and couldn’t notice much difference at all, maybe a slight improvement. I think if buying cheaper cables with planars, copper is the way to go, as I’ve found some cheaper silver/silver plated cables to make the highs sound far too sharp for me personally. I was going to buy a much more expensive cable in the near future, but now I don’t think I’m going to bother. All the best!

Thanks for the impressions and thoughts. I've never heard of that cable.

I also use the "LINSOUL Tripowin GranVia Upgraded OFC" for my over-ear headphones. I've also found that pure copper (without silver) sounds better for me-more harmonious without harshness in the high frequencies.

It's physically impossible for any decent cable to make any difference to sound in 99,99% of headphones (the ones with normal impedance). That's just not how electricity works. It's a common urban legend that silver plates cables sound brighter, but it makes absolutely no sense. It's all just placebo and snake oil.

@davisantos3431 There are a lot of things that science and measurements can't explain. I know what I hear and explained them in the video. I don't think it's placebo or snake oil as there are so many others that have experienced similar. Now that isn't to say that a lot of claims by manufacturers isn't playing into the lore and gullible tendencies making a lot of snake oil products. But the slight differences from copper to silver or the benefits of insulation or other wire types and processes have been documented by listeners for a long time and that is more than just a coincidence in my opinion. There's just some phenomenas that science can't explain. Thanks for the comment.

@TheHonestAudiophile I don't deny people's experiences whatsoever. I think they're real and valid. But cables literally can't alter the sound in any noticeable way if the resistance is low enough, which is the case for any cheap wire out there. There's just no possible mechanism for that to happen. The signal received by the driver is exactly the same regardless of cable material.

Definitely agree about the chin slider, it's not functional at all, I end up modding my EA cables with DIY chin slider, i hope EA solves this aspect of the cable, apart from that it's a amazing cable, with actual audible difference.
