We all use words and Language evryday to interact with people at work. But do we really communicate effectively? Effective communication can be broken down into three parts. Listening, understanding and responding. Lets look at this one by one. Listinening involve hearing the words that being said taking an non verbal cues such as body language and facial expressions plus being attetion to voice modelation. We been move on to the next stage understanding or given meaning to the what we had heard, most communication breakdown happen at this stage because we often misunderstand or misinterpret what being said when we make error in interpretation we are likely to respond incorrectly as well For example your boss ask you if the task that he or she assign to you has been completed If you interpret that as the boss blaming you for not completing the task, you likely to respond with anger, how ever if you interpret that as your boss wanting to just notice you the task you are likely to feel less angry and defensive How we interpret what we hear is affected by the thoughts that pop up in our mind when we are listening

Many professions necessitate great communication skills. They make it possible for people to connect and collaborate with one another. Strong communicators can effectively listen, observe, and comprehend others. Your communication skills allow you to interpret and respond to what others are saying through the use of verbal and nonverbal cues.
