Excellent. I was getting some simple key frames done but didn’t understand that DaVinci was creating them itself when I changed something.

You can sync your tracks via waveforms, natively in Resolve.
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal Жыл бұрын
Yes you can. Unfortunately you can't do that with an single audio track and a completely separate video track that had no included audio. That's why I always clap to make sure I have a sync point. Even if my camera captured no native audio, I know I can sync the DAW mic track peak points of a series of claps with where my hands come together in the footage
@Pino.1
@Pino.1 11 ай бұрын
@@Daniel_Batal yup, you need two audio tracks to sync, however, you are manually aligning the claps using the mouse. Instead, in the timeline, highlight all of your tracks, right click and select ‘auto align clips’ via waveform.

You explain this quite thoroughly without over complicating, which you said is your intent. I wanted to compliment you, as well as thank you Fantastic work. I will watch all of your Davinci related videos and I hope you continue to provide them! Cheers

I have to tell you, you’re doing a bang up job with these videos my friend! I started editing with Filmora four years ago and learned EVERYTHING about it, and to some degree editing, from you! They don’t know what a mistake they made screwing you over. Filmora’s loss is DaVinci’s gain. And while the tutorial space for DaVinci is more crowded, you’ve definitely found your voice and as a user of Davinci going on three years now, I STILL learn new stuff from you. You have an incredible style, personality, and sincerity in your videos and I wish you continued success! ✊🏿👏🏿✌🏿👏🏿✊🏿

Hey thanks! I really appreciate that. Resolve is definitely a topic that has been extensively covered, for sure. It seemed that with a few exceptions like Casey Faris, there weren't a lot of easy-to-follow conversations for folks like me who were still discovering the software. I hope some of these help lower the barrier to entry for anyone who might find Resolve to be daunting at first glance (I was one of those people!)

Daniel, You are helping Us beginners out a lot more than you know. Your way of explaining works amazing. As someone that has never edited anything in there life to starting making youtube videos with my cell phone soley for videoing and editing. Then last november taking the plunge into davinci resolve and it being my 1st introduction with any type of editing software. I was very confused, nervous, & second guessing my decision about using the software. So after tons of youtube tutorials later I'm starting to scratch the Surface. So from all of us Noobs that don't know anything We Truly appreciate your time, knowledge, and the fact your putting content out that helps tons of people. So Thank You from all of us Also, Your thumbnails are on another level. Would love to figure out how to do those one day. Do you build them in Davinci?

❤Another awesome vid so far, looking forward to finishing it when we get home from our trip. As a newb, Keyframing is one aspect that I shy away from having tried coloring fades, speed ramps, zooms etc with key frames and totally making a mess of the timeline and video overall. Tried to download this video to watch on the flight home today but no option to download for future viewing, (Love watching your videos on flights and learning DVR from you as you literally walk us through). Will catch the rest of it hopefully tomorrow. Again, THANK YOU! ❤

I have this question and I guess there's no solution for it: Where are those keyframes of an effect next to a clip if you want to expand it so you could move them? I've found this: Yes, it does appear that you can only create and manipulate FX keyframes in the Inspector panel's Effects tab and not in the keyframe graph area below the clip. Edit: I've found that I can click on the fusion icon of the effect in the inspector and open it in fusion and there I can work on it. A video suggestion!
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal 7 ай бұрын
Depends which page you are in. If were are in the Edit Page like we were here in this video and you added keyframes to let's say a video clip... in the timeline, look at that clip and you will now notice the two icons on the lower right of that asset are now active. The one in the lowest right corner (the diamond shaped icon) is clickable and it will expand a keyframe control window below that asset in your timeline, showing all the keyframes that have been added and this gives you the ability to do exactly what you said... move them, delete them, etc. The icon just to the left of that diamond-shaped control icon (sort of a squiggly line with a couple of markers) is the keyframe spline icon. If you click that, it allows you to do modify the motion flow interactions of those keyframes at a deeper level including easing in/easing out and creating motion curves. I actually cover that in this video at this point ---> kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYqXnGhjnNKfrNE

@@Daniel_Batalhey Daniel! Thanks for getting back. Man I've forgotten to write "keyframes of effects" When I have an effect I can't see those diamonds on the edit timeline clips to expand.

Depends on the effect and where the keyframing was applied. Give me an example of an effect you’ve added and then keyframed but couldn’t access those keyframes

@@Daniel_Batal I want to use the effect binoculars for a video I'm working on for tonight. There's no diamond symbol at the clips right side (just all those at the inspector). I know now, that I can use the keyframe (spine?) editor window in fusion for that.
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal 7 ай бұрын
Got it. Thanks for hanging in there with me through this conversation. You're absolutely right that for specific effects the keyframing doesn't give us an obvious expanded window for control. I'm doing my best to work out a contract with BlackMagic Designs to become an official brand ambassador for their product (which should hopefully also give me more access to the designers to raise awareness of the community's issues). I'll definitely make a note of this ❤️

This is a good tutorial. But you are drawing on the screen that you zoomed in on, as in @ 23:45, while you are talking. Did you draw those orange strokes with the paint node or polylines? And, did you record your voiceover first and then drew the lines while listening to your voiceover? Curious to know the order of your production process. Thanks.
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal Жыл бұрын
This was a live stream training session, it was all happening simultaneously in real time. (probably why most of my on-screen scribbling is so messy!) In edited content, I'll add those in post. For live streaming, I use tools like TubeSpanner or Zoomit for working in real time.
@moodberry
@moodberry Жыл бұрын
I see! Well then, it would seem that I could maybe go full screen mode (ctrl-F) on a clip while using the paintbrush and record my screen as a new clip, right? That way I theoretically could use the paintbrush tool in the paint node instead of keyframing polylines, right? @@Daniel_Batal

If you're trying to do things like draw circles or arrows, it's much easier to either license those assets from places like Production Crate or better yet, make reusable assets yourself---> kzbin.infoIujCG4KPqxY?si=a36d_RLBfeTTjrT4

Not exactly sure what you mean. Transform moves, zooms, stretches and skews any track that’s selected in your timeline. Make sure you have the proper track selected. If your have another layer on top of the track you’re modifying, you’ll need to move forward in the layer structure or turn the other tracks off

Daniel I love your videos. I'd really like to get a signature look for video like you developed. No matter what's going on on youtube if I scroll past one of yours my brain points it out cuz you got this amber brownish yellowish kind of thing going on that just works. It's very much an attention getter. Did you plan that and experiment and get different things together so you got what you wanted? I mean did you envision that look before you got to it? Or did it just kind of unfold and you said okay that'll do I like it? The your lighting and audio are awesome. Makes it comfortable to absorb the information you're putting out. There's nothing distracting etc. I think what I'm saying is that your videos are among the most congruent work of its type that I've seen on the internet. So how'd you get that look dude on your set?

I spent a long time building my set & audio design. I’m really glad you appreciate that. I’ve worked towards the feel of warm wood and hanging out by a fireside glow. Almost a subliminal fireside chat. Combine that with the fact that I grew up around music. That’s been the vibe I’ve strived for

So keyframing is where the screen moves around to different points basically? I've always wondered what keyframing is I've never understood it lol
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal Жыл бұрын
As one example, yes. But it could be where a video slowly fades from black and white into color or where the volume pans from the left to the right. Keyframing are just marker points that tell the software to change from one thing to another or do multiple changes along the frames in your timeline. It all depends on what you are keyframing.
