It's incredible. Handle out - so simple , no more motorcycle rerouting when the arms go up . Thank you thank you !

I'd say no more 'dropping in the slot'. Just same route up, same route down. What I like with Mike's video (in contrast to Saguto) that he emphasizes the importance of the swing plane. I used to do same route up and down but too shallow. Mostly people that do that (combined usually with an inside takeaway) correct by coming back over the top. Not me though, but at the expense of lower back issues. Glad I came across Mike's channel to relieve me of those tendencies.

Every time i watch a Mike Malaska instruction video the golf swing starts to make sense again. Love his teaching methods. Now if i can just talk my wife into letting me fly out and get a personal lesson from him!,,,,,,,,lol

tried this in my garage with whiffle balls. Its seems to be really a no brainer on the downswing. Great Job!!

What Billy is doing before taking that swing reminds me of what I see Billy Horschel doing a lot lately. takeaway test, halfway test, swing. He's probably looking for the same feel to get the clubhead to where he can just let it go.

I like your talk about setting/doing things early, so that you don't have to deal with them at the top, but easier said than done. I'd like to make my own swing better in the beginning, so that it will be better later as a result. Hopefully Rory Mcilroy does what you said. Maybe then he'll play consistently better.

Mike, I watched a video with Pete Cowen and he talked about “spinning the right arm down” and if you slow it down, it looks a whole lot like the “Malaska move”
@TurfloverАй бұрын
This motion is contrary to what Mike has taught previously which is club head outside the hands on backswing

Mike hope you might indulge me a question. when i push handle down and club head up on the take away something happens. most likely me doing it wrong. my hands seem to get close to my had and I don't feel as I have any length to the swing. having problems feeling the arms whipping the club through impact. any comment?

How do I not hook the ball with this type of action?

Does this work with the driver?

100%I have the lifting hands problems at least 4-5 shots per round with long clubs because it's very easy to leave the club head behind during the takeaway . This is gold !

Would love to see him do this explaining it without Billy.. .. subscribed to site can’t find news letter

..because when he says in how far that’s why I would like him to do it without billy

Isn’t this considered an inside takeaway? Most golf instructors warn against this but I do prefer it so wondering what is actually right
@MrPetetm2 ай бұрын
An inside takeaway is when you bring the hands in behind you when at a low point in the backswing creating an L shape or backwards L shape. By keeping the Hans out in front of you at the lower part of your backswing you can take it back and up on a constant line and not have to lift to get to the top

Love Mike's lessons, but talking about Rory is just a bit ridiculous, as Mike really did not achieve anything in he's golf career.
@jrlakes252 ай бұрын
But he’s telling you in this video why he didn’t have success. Bad concepts and fighting his body’s natural instincts and athleticism derailed his career. That’s why he’s such a good teacher now, he understands what does and doesn’t work.
@wotchoback2 ай бұрын
That's such a shit take, especially in Golf. As a teacher, you don't have to be able to reproduce it yourself, as long as you are good at explaining the concepts and have a great understanding of the golfswing.

I don’t follow… he is not saying he is on their level only that he is curious what they are thinking, and that sometimes he struggles with similar issues.
