Hi Kat, very helpful video! I am a non-US citizen living abroad. As I do not have SSN, I recently created a single-member LLC in Wyoming state. Can I now apply for EFIN using my LLC's EIN? If yes, what should be the business structure when filling the online application - 'Limited Liability Corp.' or 'Sole-Proprietor' (because my LLC is a single-member LLC)?

Using Fieldprint®, the IRS authorized vendor. Once you submit your e-file application, you can schedule your appointment by accessing the e-file application summary page and using the scheduling link on the Terms of Agreement Signature(s) & Personal Information section

Hello, i see on irs website that everyone who has more than 10 tax returns should apply for EFIN. What if I only have 3 or 4 customers for the first year? Can I still apply for efin? This is totally new for me. I’m not even sure if i will get clients for the first year

Yes IRS requirement is 10 clients. But if you would like to use professional tax prepares softwares (everything except TurboTax), you will need EFIIN to e-file with that tax software even if it’s 5 tax returns

hey is the time duration for getting EFIN is same as mail and online ? and can a non US resident having LLC and ITIN get EFIN number ?

I think it would be double the time. I suggest applying online - it probably will take around a month

Hm.. I am really not sure about it. But you can apply yourself if you have SSN
