Last year I bought an efnote 5X which I really like. I can basically play 24/7 even with people in the same house. I went to Thomann and tested out a bunch of different brands and one of the salesmen there recommended the efnote which I never heard before. Playing the kit was a really great feeling compared to my acoustic one. I changed one floor tom and bought another cymbal and used my gibraltar rack to mount everything the same way like my acoustic kit. And another aspect was, I also don't need crazy/weird drum sounds, just normal kits is good for me. I never owned a Roland kit, but the price and what I got drove me towards efnote and I don't regret the decision

how is the sound of deeper toms(especially basss drum)? is it louder then "typicall" electronic drum kit?

I bought the 3x and really love it. I beat on it everyday and it still looks brand new after 3 months or so. Its built like a tank I fell into mine knocking stands over and there was no damage thank goodness.

I have had the Efnote 3x e-kit for about 2.5 years now, and I play it every day. I think it is a phenomenal accustic realistic e-kit for the money, and I have a blast playing it. I have even played it live a couple of times. I think the top of the line Efnote Pro would be great to review as that would be my dream e-kit, but unfortunately, on my pay and the rising costs of everything, I could never afford one but you would have a blast playing and reviewing it.

It is worth the price and much better than the Roland of a similar price. Good e-kits start at $2.500 and go up. Do not say an Alesis, Donner, or Millennium because those are not good brands, and all of those have issues, and my experience with Efnote is I have not had any issues or problems with my kit in the 2.5 years I have had it and I play it every day.

This kit is Far superior to any Roland kit in the price range of $1k up to $5k. I would get this kit over a Roland any day. Roland has name legacy, but not very good products for the expense. Efnote took the best parts of Roland and improved upon them exponentially. These are some of the best sound samples I’ve ever heard from an ekit along with the Yamaha pro and pro-x modules.

Hello! Beginner-intermediate drummer here. Having trouble between choosing this kit and the Alesis Strata Prime. Obviously this kit is around $700 cheaper but lacks the full bass drum and advanced module that the Alesis has and has generally smaller drums. Pretty much in the middle right now, I was initally leaning towards the Alesis but the price difference is pretty large. Just not sure if the module or larger bass will be worth 700 bucks

Dude, trust me, get this over the strata prime…and honestly probably over anything else besides a higher end efnote model. Take it from me, I’m an intermediate drummer as well, been playing for 18 years, and I bought the Strata prime a couple months ago. I still own it but don’t know for how long. I want to return it and get an efnote. Now granted, I don’t know what your needs are and what purposes you require an e-kit, and also I’ve never played an efnote, but I do a lot of research on electronic drums and have gotten pretty keen on the details, as I’ve learned a lot the last few months, upgrading from my Roland TD-11 to strata prime. And have learned even more since getting the prime, partly because of the research I had to do to get the prime to do what I want/need it to, which it pretty much cant. Everything I’ve seen of efnote is by far the most impressive drums I ever ever seen and each and every demo seems to showcase the same apparent quality. The prime is cool and all, and yeah it’s nice to have the full size drums, the sounds are good, but you can’t use the factory sounds that come with the prime in the BFD software, can’t access them as midi, and you can’t seperate the different individual drum tracks coming out of the module like you can the efnote. I can’t think of anything that alesis strata prime does better other than the whacky electronic sounds, cause efnote doesn’t offer them. They stick to the high quality, realistic, acoustic drums that honestly more drummers are probably looking for cause that’s how our actual instrument sounds and what we want to hear. The alesis strata prime is cool, but they released it way too early in my opinion, lots of things aren’t worked out, but you’d never know unless you have one or had a chance to spend a bunch of time on it, cause they certainly don’t advertise it and it’s hard to get any in depth info on it cause it’s new. Also, their customer service is terrible. So in conclusion, prime is cool but its functionality is majorly lacking. Efnote = better sounds, better functionality/user friendliness, better for recording, better for live, and cheaper! And with this efnote 3x, you get just as many drums and just as many cymbals. Cymbals look cooler imo and sound/play much better

In in the same boat as you man but instead of the strata prime I'm looking at the strike pro kit, I will most likely go with alesis because I want to add more cymbals to my ekit and I believe that with this module you are unable to do this.

I’m on the fence between the 3x and the 27KV2 ?
@Ben-ic1ve
@Ben-ic1ve Жыл бұрын
27KV2 has the digital snare, hi hat and ride, so there’s a slightly better response in those elements (the hi hat on the efnote is comparable I would say). But the efnote is still top notch in terms of feel. More focus on acoustic like sounds on the efnote (but less sound editing capabilities). More variety on the 27kv2, including more editing features (but less realistic acoustic sounds imo). More pads on the efnote (but smaller ride cymbal). I personally lean towards the efnote, but if they were the same price, I would go with the the 27kv2 (and use a software like EZDrummer3).

@@Ben-ic1ve true is tough I am expecting to test the Roland soon at my local store, unfortunately I can't test the efnote. My purpose is to practice at home easy and simple, that is way I think is better efnote for my case, but having the best hithat and snare in the business from Roland is tempting, a definitely long time purchase 😅
@Ben-ic1ve
@Ben-ic1ve Жыл бұрын
@@joselazaro2915 definitely agree on it being tough. If you’re looking to play on acoustic kit (if you perform or gig), then the Roland has a bit of a better playing feel (mainly due to the digital hats, snare and ride). There’s just a bit better nuance. Grated you get less acoustic like sounds (but if you’re just practicing with it, it’s not the end of the world honestly). If you’re wanting to save a little more money, the Efnote gives you really good feel (though just a bit behind the Roland in terms of the snare and ride). I personally think that the optical hi hats by Efnote compete well with Roland.

Cymbal choking doesn’t work with the Efnote 3X on Superior Drummer 2.0, and only partially works with Superior Drummer 3, because the aftertouch signals the Efnote 3X sends are too weak (velocity 48 instead of 127). Do you know any fixes for this? Superior Drummer 3 has a “lower choke threshold” function (Superior Drummer 2 does not), but even with that, only some of the Efnote 3X’s cymbals can be choked in Superior Drummer 3. With my old Roland TD-9, I never had any such problems.

I would base my decision in the needs, for example, i dont like to do much tweaking or tuning/editing of the sounds, i dont use (nor like) the pew pew electronic sounds Roland includes, I like a more natural acoustic sounding drumkit which on a Roland kit I can only achieve through VSTs, I also don't like the idea of taking the time to turn on my laptop and open the software, connect a usb cable to use my VSTs, I play almost only rock and funk music, based on that, I would pick an efnote kit, but that would be a 5 or 7 which sound better than the 3.

@@davidcastro3897 thanks fow answering! As far as I know there is no big sound differences between the Efnote modules, but I get what you mean: I know nothing about editing sounds or using VSTs (I'm more on the plug and play side) and I don't like Roland artificial sounds either. I love Efnote 3x mainly because of its portability, pad sizes, "acoustic" sounds and hi-hat, but on the other hand the TD27 kv has the best ride and snare of the e-drum market and a very reliable module... So I guess that's where I'm in doubt and I can't decide properly. I know any of the two sets are a good value, but it's A LOT of money and I want to make the best choice possible.
