A bit background for our boy MINO: He was originally lined up to debut as a Block B member, along with ZICO and his best mate, P.O. but due to personal reasons, he had to pull out. Then, a few years later, he debuted as "Tagoon", the youngest member of a boy group called B.O.M. That group never took off due to it's company's mismanagement and they eventually disbanded. He ultimately joined YG ENT as a trainee and finally debuted as a member of WINNER in 2013. His prior works speaks mostly of these struggles, and I'm so proud of how how he'd already come 🥺

This performance was so emotional. Mino’s story has been full of struggles, but the way he’s come out from his hardships and become one of the top tier korean rappers in the industry always gets to me. The lyrics really are emotional, i remember all of korea was moved during this performance. It wasnt a hype show, but more about lyricism and how well he tells his story in his lyrics. Another point, Mino was criticised alot for being a “kpop rapper” who lacked skills and was simply a pretty boy. My boy went ahead and shaved his entire head to go against the stereotype and truly amazed all audiences 😭✨

i watched this on air years ago and kept playing it over and over after the show yet i feel all the emotions the same way as my first time watching it..fun fact: Mino was an underground rapper along with his bestfriends Zico & P.O way before they entered the kpop industry, when Mino became a yg trainee the rap teacher said Mino does well that there's nothing for him to teach :) ..would love for you to check more of Mino's songs.

If you have seen this entire season of SMTM you'll know those guys watching backstage.. The poker face guy it is his "worried" face I would say haha.. So far, I think SMTM season with Mino is the most cruel season. Still, no one for me reach the level of vocal greatness of Taeyang in KPOP.. In terms of vocal accompanied by stage presence and performance wise ♥ When I am teased because of my interest in kpop, my strong rebat is Taeyang.. I would confidently say "It's not only because they are handsome and just a cute, cute guys it's because they are good" And I would show his performances as an evidence.. Mino is considered as one of the best Rappers in S.Korea and is well respected in the khiphop and kpop scene for his unique flow , lyrical genius(most of the translated lyrics don't do him justice ) and amazing producing skills. He has his own unique style in music( and art )that just immediately distinguishes him from all the other rappers . And also a lot of f*cked up sh*t has happened to Mino in the industry (and none was because of his own fault) and he had to go through a lot to achieve what he got now. Another noteworthy artist is Kang SeungYoon , he is from the same group as Mino (Winner)and he is one powerhouse of a vocalist.
