Many don't realize Efren was a "3 Cushion" pool champion before then and pocketing a bank shot is nothing new to him but to everyone else they get stunned! His past tournaments showcasing his "magic" shots are now immortalized in many videos here and are being used as the basis of many young players trying to emulate him. Commentators then and up to today, were having a hard time (like in this video) forecasting his next table shot that they often end up exclaiming with sheer joy about his unorthodox shot-making abilities and are in awe of this mythical pool genius that they would just warn "watch out" for his next unbelievable shot. Listen when 1 commentator loudly commented here "Are you kidding me?" about 4X when Efren made a 2-rail bank shot. Not only that, he gets better with age but alas he is retired. Efren Reyes.. the legend, the g.o.a.t., the billiard god of our times.

A 2 cushion shot like that takes into consideration on how the ball comes off the cushion. So, there has to be at least a slight English on the cue ball to compensate, but I'm guessing. Maybe it's possible to hit the cushion in the exact location to make the shot without English, but I'm thinking balls don't come off cushions in the exact geometrical way we think, esp. with a 2 cushion shot which requires some speed on the cue ball, which means the cushion pushes back against the Q-ball, destroying our geometric guess-timation. I haven't been playing long, and so, I'm speculating. Anyhow, that specific shot will be my practice for this afternoon. Would welcome any input on how to handle this 2-cushion shot.

@@mu99ins I'd like to think that you need to get the first bank angle correct factoring in the speed and English. The ball off the second rail would just have moslty forward spin and obviously less speed so it would have a larger angle.

Slightly low left spin on white ball spins the object ball off the first rail and then it levels off after hitting the second rail.
