Takeshi's fundamental game did not look strong enough to compete in the finals. Perhaps he had more flair, but Reyes kept the basics simple. Takeshi experimented too much & looked complacent in comparatively straightforward shots. Of course, it looked unbelievable when he potted.

Probably was fixed if this is from the late 90's prior to the anti‐Yakuza legislation post-2008. Not so shocking to see their champion miss such an easy final shot after having made it interesting up until then. Was a very subtle way to throw a match, IMO. Efron is still The Man and I doubt he knew anything about it. I just think Takeshi knew exactly which rack he needed to lose on. It's in his eyes that he knew
