There are so many Efren Reyes videos spreading on social medias right now where they make down and accusing the opponent players. Most of the opponent players don't deserve that. They are also humble and nice.

I played Efren in 2017; the game was the best three out of five in nine ball. Of course he beat me and I enjoyed it. - - - If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill - - - as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop - - - I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right - - - I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea if I am not teaching someone how to shoot pool - - - if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me and I will let you break!

Efren's stroke reminds me of fine silk. Soooo smooooth. My buddy and I had a chance to chat with Efren and Bustamante in Palawan during a tournament back in 2023. They even let us take a group photo. They were very kind to us and both of them played at the highest level. It was mesmerizing to watch Bustamante practice. Bustamante is not a finesse player like Eren. They both won their games against the two winners of the Palawan tournament. Two players in their early 30s, the best in Palawan, got schooled by the two older fellows. I did not want to ask Bustamante what its like to play in Efren's shadow. Bustamante would have been the #1 Filipino player for a lot of his career if Efren wasn't around.

Efren's style of play is as unique as his personality - a true master of the sport! When Efren came to the United States in the mid-eighties, he was already over 30 years old and - according to his own statement - his best time was already behind him🙂... It's hard to imagine how good he must have been at the age of 20. It's a pity that there are no videos of this. Man - what a player!
