Nice vlog, pitty you missed at least half of the park; 3 of the 4 dark rides, the mad house, the steam carrousel from 1895, the fairytale forrest (an absolute must do) and much more… hope you get to come back some day

Nice you enjoyed our magicale park. Hope you enjoyed it and come back cause you missed half the park from what i've seen. It really is more then a one day park if you wanna do it all. A bit weak in the thrill section but i think its so good in every other part. From your accent i might be close to your home this year doing some nice parks in the states.

There are some really good coasters here in the UK and Europe but the ride time just isn't long enough

You should come back during summer and when there's not as much construction. There's a TON of construction going on right now because covid pushed back many projects and renovations.

Nice video, but as with so many foreign and first time visitors, skipping the fairy tale forest is almost a crime. It is where it all started, the heart of Efteling and a must see. Even for adults, just to feel a child again. Plus it is unique in the world. And Efteling is famous for its dark rides, and much less for its rollercoasters and thrill rides. Dreamflight is a world class dark ride that is unique in its concept and execution. Still after more than 30 years the most popular with usually the longest wait times. Fata Morgana is also great, but has a pirate of the Caribbean vibe. Should you visit again, take at least one hour for the fairytale forest, and accept the wait times at dream flight.

Are you over long enough to head to Alton Towers for Nemesis reopening or to ride The Smiler, both if those are amazing, would be shame to miss them.

Python is not technically an older ride. It was rebuilt a few years ago like the hulk was at universal. I assume modern engineering made the ride a lot smoother.

when was this filmed bc when i was there there was alot of the unox orange hats and it was in 2024 and looking at the weather it 90% is the day i went there and in that day i rode my first looper it was python😁 btw my dad rides extreme rides for fun like he said he could fall asleep on baron bc its so boring and im 10 and he said if i dont do python im gonna regret it bc its a super good begginer looper and im do thankfull he forced me to ride it

As what seems to be a channel mainly focused on coasters Efteling isn't the best park to visit since it's much more theming based(besides from Python, still don't understand why they didn't implement a jungle theme or something by now) but especially you've picked the worst period to visit as well for those, with all the maintenance done.

For those who never have been to the park: 1) The park is not inside a city, it is a drive to get there. 2) The park and hotel costs (there are hotels adjacent to the park) is 1/3 of that compared to a Disney park and the reason why is that the park is owned by the government. 3) Not shown in this video is that there is a section of the park called Sprookjesbos that has characters you might know (Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel, The Little Mermaid, etc.), but the original stories are much darker than the sanitized version you might know. 4) Also not shown in the video is another dark ride (Droomvlucht-translation-Dream Flight) which is similar to Symbolica. 5) Finally, it is a fairytale theme park and a young woman wearing a flower crown and a dress will be approached by little girls (wanting to pose for pictures), who think that the woman with the flower crown is a costume character.

The 'coasters are literally the least interesting part of the park. And if anything, Python should go out. Not because it's a bad caster, but because it just doesn't belong in the park.

@@mikadeleeuw5476 It has no theming, no connection with fairytales (old or invented), it was put in the park after Anton Pieck died and they were clueless as to which direction they should go with the Efteling. They assumed they had to keep up with the Walibi- thrill ride parks. (this was before Eurodisney opened and changed the ballgame once more). As a barebones thrill ride it's kind of "underwhelming" (only two loops and a corkscrew- that's literally it) and doesn't cut it compared to anything Walibi or Plopsaland have to offer. St George and the Dragon and Max and Moritz have better theming now. The Efteling had a rough decade where they were quite unsure which direction to take.....more cookie cutter thrill rides (the Piranha barely got a theming as far as i'm concerned) or bad disneyland copies (most of all the Rocbird,The Carnival ride and the Monsieur Cannibal) - which had (bad and style)theming but were very inferior of the way more expensive and better designed Space Mountain/It's a small World and Spinning teacups at Disney parks. they were pretty much built before Eurodisney entered te market, so as long as European park goers weren't too familiar with Disney's originals, the Efteling could coast by. That said Fata Morgana is still somewhat a Pirates of the Carribean clone (cheaper than Disney but the design is pretty good and at least quite different and room for original elements, update the animatronics and get a better soundtrack/ jingle), Droomvlucht stole the hanging concept from the Disney Peter Pan ride, but here they came up with a great concept, quite good styling, and put a lot more moneyinto it and it shows. Onoe could even make a case for the Efteling getting the trackless dark ride from Disney's earlier attractions, but they are way smarter now and when they 'steal/borrow" concepts from Disneyland they do it way better now and make their own variations. "Symbolica' steals the trackless vehicles, with onboard options from the shooterBuzz lightyear attractions and some special effects stuff inspired by Disney'sMystery Manor at Disneyland Hong Kong. Even for the Spookslot they looked a lot at the Disenyland Haunted Mansion and the Pepper's ghost effects. NO problem, they need big attractions as well and can do their own versions of water fountain shows and live "stunt' shows with an Efteling Twist. Design and theming has hugely improved again since the passing of Anton Pieck, but the difference between his immaculate style and the current styling could still be improved. They clearly improve with each new attraction. In the end though, the best Efteling concepts are the original old Style European Efteling attractions. the walk through forest, the Diorama, the Squares, Carrousel (they should keep the old skool dancing fountains indoor- way better than trying to compete with Disney and failing on the big stuff), thel little stuff like the Hollebollegijs, the donkey lifting his tail, Zwaan Kleef aan......those are the real magical elements. it's amazing to see that older clunkier robotrics from the start of the Efteling (the with from Hans en Grietje), Langnek, the dancing shoes, The Dragon & Parrot, etc,, hold up real well and keep all their charm just nodding and plodding along. But if the Efteling tries for a more sophisticated audioanimatronic (like the very stiff one in villa volta) - then they fall short of the more sophisticated and probably quite more expensive Disney standard. So old world charm is their forte, keep up the theming, originality and invest in better music scores (those could be redone for a lot of attractions.) Hoping for a great Danse Macabre.... keep marching to your own drum, not Walibi or disneyland imitations.
