Thank you for all of your videos --- I find / found them very helpful and really enjoying learning from you. I also love how "REAL" you are. Most of the youtube influencers seem to just do what I'd consider "infomercials" especially when they get free equipment from the company sending it to them in exchange for a favorable (biased) review. I love that you'll say it as it is --- don't change that!

Good Stuff, Rodney! I was shocked (see what I did there) to hear that there's no auto restart. One of my favorite things is how it switches to grid instead of turning off when we overload our three. Hopefully they will send out an update to fix the off-grid issue.

Going to test again as Gavin says his single inverter auto restarts after 5 minutes. Maybe different in parallel but will overload a time it to see what it does. Maybe I thought it was longer than 5 minutes and it wasn’t

Good to hear. I finally got two of them received, probably have a third before it's all said and done. It'll still be another month before I get started installing though. Waiting on battery cells too. They're still out in the middle of the deep blue sea somewhere. I'll be using JK Inverter BMS' and hope that won't be too hairy of a startup. But EG4 talks Pylon and so does JK. Should be alright, we'll see. Just got my pv panels in yesterday. Little bit of a pain having to pick them up at the freight terminal and costed me an extra $200 bucks for help with the 1500lb pallet. But I didn't discover until this evening that I had 36 panels instead of the 30 that I ordered and paid for. Expecting to have 12kw in panels turned into 14.4kw (400w/bifacial). Dude, Signature Solar hooked me up! They will hear my appreciation tomorrow no doubt.

A man after my own heart! I'm in the Piedmont Triad area of NC and also have an off grid system at my house. I went with Sol-Ark instead because I felt so burned by the older EG4 6500 xp units. They made my basement 80 degrees in the summer and failed after a year of running so hot

I’m currently running 1 inverter and when I overload it it kicks to grid. I run in off grid configuration but also have grid input. It automatically changes back to battery when it’s no longer overloaded.

Unfortunately no grid input for me. Too far from my grid power and I would need to add a separate panel and move all breakers from main grid input panel.

I have two of these with a grid input and three power pros. When I overload them they switch to the grid until the load drops back down and they automatically switch back on to solar/batteries. Wire in the grid and have no more restart worries.

Just bought and installed an EG4 6000XP and works. Mine has a grid connection (draws from, doesn't feed it), 7.7 kW solar panels in 2 strings (350 V, 12 A each). No battery yet (shipping) and no generator. Tried to download the EG4 Monitor app for my Android, but it requires a "customer code" from the supplier (InvertersRUs) and today is a Saturday. They didn't list cryptic number that on the invoice. Why not, since all customers will need it to use the app? Nor in the box (drop-shipped from EG4). I sent e-mails and voice-mail to both. Why make the customer jump thru such hoops?

You likely tripped out on low battery, although the display does not identify warnings/faults very well. All error codes in manual say basically same thing "restart inverter" . That often will NOT clear the issue particularly low battery as you have to come back above voltage/SOC threshold THEN restart. (Manual doesn't describe that fact) manual is crap for diagnostics and had to develop my own table/methods to clear identified faults/warnings.

I would not recommend it. You can ask EG4 or signature solar what they advise. But I would be cautious with that
@grosjarvis8061
@grosjarvis8061 3 ай бұрын
Be careful with that, IMO as these units are extremely sensitive to heat. They do not like to run in environments above 85 degrees although data spec is higher. Basically, the real world use is higher the load, the lower the ambient must be for this particular unit, in my experience. Also, the unit efficiency drops considerably as temp/load goes up.

So you are not selling back to the grid but you are still grid-tied i take it? If so, how are you getting past the neutral ground bonding issues? Or are you completely isolating your solar system from the grid to a load center with separate grounding? Meaning you have to manually switch between grid and off-grid. I do not want to have to manually switch between grid and off-grid. I would rather run the inverters in a grid-tie limiter type of situation.

I’m building a larger electrical mobile unit out of an enclosed trailer I’ve converted to be powered by the 6000xp with 10.2kwh server no alternator charge tied. My biggest question is grounding the system in a mobile application with no grid tie. Is grounding to the frame fine because of wood blocks and rubber tires. Or do I need to tie the ground to a rod at every location. I’m worried times I’ll be around pavement only. Thanks again boss!! @rodney hunt

You would be better with the chargeverter gc. To use the 6000xp you need a 10kw generator for one inverter. 2=15kw 3=20kw etc. Depending on how many you have in parallel

You can connect a generator to "share" the loads and charge is there is excess gen power available. You can charge automatically if you connect inverter style genset. inverter does not like non-inverter style gensets and overheats quickly if you use.

You got a lot of power and decent system but yet have not taught your family how to run the system … that’s your own fault for the system shitting down …. Teach your family how it works then you won’t have this issue …. Shoot I could run my whole house on 2 6k and have an abundance of power, and never have to worry about power. Teach them right then you don’t have to worry about your system.

FYI, Signature Solar now has FREE SHIPPING until February 27th. SWEET!! I just set up my two LP4 batteries, a 6000XP and eight 400W Bifacial Talesun panels. I'm feeding several circuits of my house thru a Reliance 10 Circuit Transfer Panel. I must say, I'm very happy with my system so far. And with the free shipping I'm considering ordering another 6000XP and two more LP4 batteries. Although... my Reliance panel is only rated for 30A. Wish I'd have installed their 50A Transfer Switch panel but I didn't know about it when I ordered.
