EG4 6000xp with Server Rack Batteries

This is how I received my EG4 set up from Signature Solar. Initial out of the box overview. Thanks for watching. Also I am a complete novice on this solar stuff so bear with me and we can learn together!

Im watching this 4 months after you posted so things may have changed. I got the 6000xp a few days ago and did not need dongle to get 220v out. One thing I noticed you need to turn on battery breaker on 6000xp before you power your battery so the battery boot can give the pre-charge system to charge the caps in the 6000xp. Look forward to more videos on the setup.

Is your Subpanel still connected to the main panel...or is it "off-grid" ? Thinking of getting this exact same system and trying to decide how best to integrate into my home.

My sub panel is tied into the main box, I would look into getting a transfer switch…Reliance makes a nice one

Thanks for the video! Ive been looking into this package myself or variants of, from SS. I'm really glad i watched this video. So the 6000xp will only work via internet/cell data? Or is that only for the initially configuration startup and then periodic software upgrades? Because if this is dependent on aspects of the grid, ie: interwebs, it completely nullifies this being an off grid unit as they advertised, And honestly seems goofy that something such as solar would have a dedicated need for internet. It will work, I did a follow up video to this, the batteries were not communicating with inverter so that was the issue, there is a video on the fix I posted. Thanks for watching!

I also that model.but have connected it yet. Can’t you connect directly to the batteries from the inverter using a lab cable

You may have saved some money by purchasing a low cost, light weight, lighter duty, high frequency, inverter charger, but can you explain why you chose this inverter tech. Because this inverter lacks a heavy duty, iron core, copper wound output transformer, it offers a far lower surge capacity, it runs much hotter due to its higher switching speeds whigh results in a shorter life expectancy than a low frequency inverter charger. Just curious why you chose this inverter tech?

I went with this inverter because it had WiFi connectivity, was relatively affordable, had lower idle consumption, could handle a reasonable workload for what my goal was which was essentially starting off with a small system to get more acquainted with solar set ups and have it as backup for critical loads during a power outage. It also got good reviews from Will Prowse as well, hopefully it had reasonable longevity!

I noticed your green light was flashing.From what I have seen on other videos , that means your batteries are not communicating with your inverter. Batteries may need a firmware update. I believe they were able to get inverter to operate by switching battery mode .@@ScottieBMan
