Keenly, a good picture line to use in any post-syllabus level of Modern dance competition, particularly the open levels, though rarely used in the Quickstep. I think of the Hinge Line of what it says....the leader starts in closed hold and stretches out the follower in PP position or so, in a sort of "opening out action" (just like you do in the International Rumba), as if the couple is a door trying to open using the hinges. Hence the name of that line. I also almost missed the fact that there seems to be a "slow sort-of contra check action" in the Hinge as well. I overlooked that until I saw the middle part of the line. (Most contra checks in Modern ballroom are faster than that.)

I love the Open Telemark. Basically, you change to PP from Closed just before the end of Step 3 of it. My favorite continuity slowfox step.

Evils, what is the difference between Rudolph and ronde ?

Rudolph Ronde is particular kind of Ronde when Man leads Lady with rotation to Right and steps forward. Lady goes back and makes Ronde. Hope it helps!
