Ego Lawn Mower Won't Start Yellow Light Fix

Right. It's weird because if you were to unscrew the blade from the mower and just have the washer and bolt in, it'll turn right on. At least mine does. I read somewhere that if you add two washers, one on each side of the blade, that may help but I haven't tried that yet. If you find a better solution, share the knowledge. 👍🏼

So I ended up trying the two washer method on the blade but it didn't solve the problem. My guess now is maybe the motor to the spindle has gotten weaker over time or perhaps it's the spindle itself going bad? I'm not really sure but I guess until we find the right solution, I gotta keep doing what's in the video. 😮‍💨

Mine starts with the green light and the blade spins but then it goes to yellow real quick. Any suggestions?

@amasterofbation That's exactly what's happening in this video. If the video doesn't help you out, then you may have a different situation going on with yours. Be sure your battery is in good health and has a good charge when trying what's in the video. Also, make sure grass is not hindering the blade from spinning freely when starting. No mine actually starts up first and stays green for about 15 seconds and then turns yellow. It’s probably the battery so I’ll check there

🤔 Hmm. If there was a problem with your battery, your battery should blink red. I would suggest if the battery is over 5 years old, then it might be time to think about replacing it. Purchase an original if you can as off brands typically don't last long from my experience. I usually find good prices on Ebay. Also, check and make sure the bolt to your blade is nice and tighty. I remember mine was doing that too when it would run and shut off after a few seconds due to that bolt being loose. Let us know.👍

@@Showpeoplethingsso I noticed that even when I just turn the mowers lights on (for cutting in the dark) and not even attempting to start the mower, it was giving a yellow flashing light and would do the same thing. I then googled ego battery yellow flashing light and a video came up of someone’s trick to literally drop the battery from about a foot off the ground and the battery light went from that to green. So I took my battery and hit it on the bottom with my hand like you would on a glass jar and now it is staying green. Somehow that miraculously fixed it. How it did I’ll never know

@@amasterofbation Oh wow. I wasn't gonna recommend you beating up your battery but, LOL, if it started working then you found your problem. When I had to order a new battery, I did receive the "newer" ego battery but mine has never turned yellow so I really couldn't have told you what to do in your case but if mine ever does turn yellow then I guess I'll have to whack mine a couple time too. That could just be a sign of one of the cells going bad or something.
