Hi Jason, I don’t have an exact video on why I made the change, I will have to do one. This is a bit of a long video but I go through a stack of my ego tools. Thanks for the question, Scotty

Hey Scotty, how did you get a longer link cord for your backpack? Can’t seem to find anything on the ego website? Cheers

I think the backpack link Will be my next investment. I do a lot of hedges this time of year (UK) and the less weight the better... You definitely feel it after a long day. Just one question, what's the balance like with the dummy battery? Does it make the trimmer feel front heavy? Cheers

You could test this yourself I would imagine just take the battery off your unit and maybe experiment with different weights on the base without it running obviously

Hey Josh. Sorry I didn’t realise I hadn’t replied to question. I feel the multi tool just as balanced with a dummy battery without the extra 3kg. Have you purchased the backpack yet.

Hey, I currently have the Makita version of this and find that with the extension pole you get a lot of bounce and flexx in the shaft when using it horizontally, due you find the same with the ego? The poles look thicker but hard to tell.

Hi Rod, the aluminium pole on the ego Multi Tool is very strong, I get a little bit of flex when I add one extension bar, two extension poles gives quite a bit and three extensions is too many, that’s 15’ or 4.5m I can reach 5.5m before it gets to much to handle. Unfortunately I haven’t tried the Mikita tools.

@1greenthumbgardeningtwba thanks for that, I find the Makita pretty bouncy with one extension pole. I was looking at getting the telescopic Ego until seeing your review.

I definitely wouldn’t buy the ego telescopic apparently the new carbon fibre multi tool is pretty good. But they don’t have it in Australia yet. So I haven’t tried it myself. I don’t know which review you have seen so I added this if interested kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHyQe5ewesaXqK8 Thanks again

So why did you choose ego and go to battery anyways? Is there a video you can link explaining or haven’t you made one yet?

Hi Jason, I thought I had a video but doesn’t look like I do, With my previous employer we had all petrol and just the amount of service needed and fuel was a pain in the ass, plus whipper snipper and chainsaws never want to start, A customer had the ego blower (2017) and it was as powerful as the stihl b52, so when I went out on my own in 2018, I bought the blower and multi tool with hedge trimmer, I had a stihl whipper snipper and a petrol mower, the hedge trimmer and blower were so easy to use, quiet, biggest problem was having enough batteries. As time went on I kept buying attachments for the multi tool, it was cheaper then having separate tools, I would always buy in a kit so it gave me a charger and battery, I finally went to battery mower in 2019, the mower may not have been as powerful as the petrol but so worth it, started with ease, was light, and so easy to use, my year old daughter ( now 8)loves mowing the lawn, I have the latest mower and it has as much power as the petrol mowers but it does chew threw batteries on thick wet grass. The twin blade is such a nice cut. They are an expensive way to go in the short term but over time they save so much on fuel, maintenance and frustration, we would never go back to petrol. Thanks again Scotty

Hi mate I posted this on another video of yours not sure if you saw it. Hi mate I was wondering how you got the speed feed head to work on the Ego? I tried the small speed feed head with the green insert and it fit but it vibrated a lot and it needed the spacer which didn’t sit properly so I switched to the husqvarna t35 head which works ok but is not as good as the speed feed heads. Do I need the larger 450 speed feed for it to work? Thanks.

Hi Billy, sorry I didn’t get back to you. I wanted to check out what I had and why yours might be off balance. I have used the 375 but I prefer to use the 450 speed feed heads as they have better centrifugal force and keeps better RPM.

@@1greenthumbgardeningtwba ok thanks I might try the speed feed 450. So you used the green insert and no spacer?

Hi, Do you know what's the weight of the head with the hedge trimmer and the 2.5 amp battery? If you don't have the 2.5 amp, the weight with any battery that you have will be helpful. Also, do you know the highest speed? Thanks.
@1greenthumbgardeningtwba
@1greenthumbgardeningtwba 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, the 2.5amp battery is around 1.8kg, 5amp is around 2.5, the multi tool hedge trimmer is 3.5kg. Multi tool with hedge trimmer attachment with 2.5amp is around 5.5kg. I use a backpack with all my hedges trimmers, blower and power head with all the attachments ( hedger, whipper snipper, edger) So my weight is around that 3.5kg Hopefully this helps Thanks again Scotty
