I've ran a fridge, stove, table saw, and a welder on my ego Nexus. It will run the fridge for a weekend if I limit how many times a day I'm in it. I was already invested in ego's power tools is why I went with it over other options. Is it the best power station, no and here's why. It does not have charging pass through. You can not charge the batteries and use the outlets at the same time. I have found that in the winter it can take the solar panel three or more days to recharge the batteries from empty. I keep it charged with wall power for emergencies and the solar panel adds flexibility, but it's not going to run a cabin as primary power

Ego needs to make a "Solar to Battery direct charger" Have four slots for batteries, charge at 56v DC. I'm guessing Ego would have to have thier own solar panels to sell with the system, considering the odd voltage that is used for their batteries. You could now add more panels to fast charge...instead of the measly 180 watts they currently have for solar. Plus, you could solar charge some of your batteries while the Nexus station is separately powering a load in the home.
@Kitearmy2 жыл бұрын
I wish they did a better job with the solar too
@nickvuono24222 жыл бұрын
I am curious exactly what the solar adapter is doing. You could actually setup your own standalone chargers by running a 12v solar panel to an AC inverter (inefficient!) that powers their slowest 56v plug-in battery charger for a single battery then pop it into the Nexus when it's ready. The solar adapter has got to be doing more than just 12VDC to 120VAC and feeding it into the nexus to convert back to DC, right?

You could of course put the solar panels outside and wait a day or two for the batteries to charge.
