Poppin/G-Funk L.A. legends Og Chuco, Mr. Animation(RIP) and Mr. Re

This in the late 80's and early 90's when everybody was saying, "Fuck poppin" especially from OG's unfortunately. Those same ones and others are now coming out of the woodwork trying to claim they legends and Og's in the game. But A true poppin OG and legend never stopped despite family problems, etc,etc. I was the first to put the "Abstract in Poppin" as well. When it all started, poppin was very traditional, still is. But i refused to be like the legends before me and had to change my style. Its called being an innovator. Poppin was already created obviously, but i had to change it for me, so i could live with myself know that i didn't pop like Taco, Pete, Shrimp...and become a typical clone. Peace Chuco

I was born and raised in Venice, me and animation used to practice together way back in the early 80s. Too bad he had to pass away in Las Vegas, I was supposed to be there at his show, but I did not make it. He was the only one in Venice Beach to keep the breakdancing tradition together from when it started. You showed me a lot good sir. I love you Mr. animation and you are greatly missed.

Max respect for sharing this. Wasn't Animation rocking the Venice Boardwalk for all those years? I had no idea he passed on until I saw this video right now. Crazy. RIP. I was around back in the day ('83-'84) and even got into it myself. I gotta say-even though the new generation has way crazier moves and even much more technical skill, there's a soul and feeling in the OG style that just can't be matched. I dunno. Maybe it's 'coz I'm from that era so I'll always feel a deeper attachment to it. Anyways, that's some excellent footage; thanks for taking the time to share it.
