I’m totally with you - lots of NBA tools and a recent track history of teams valuing players with what he has.

I'd only want this if I'm feeling really good about his three-point shot after his freshman season at BYU. Otherwise, my rule of thumb from now on is to surround Victor Wembanyama with guaranteed three-point shooters, quick decision makers (I think he'll touch the ball a lot, despite being the center), and versatile defenders.
@joeyangelosantos5539Ай бұрын
@FloorandCeiling yeah that is the issue 18% from 3pt? But he has the size and playmaking skills to dish the ball to wemby hehe

Egor Demin you are a San Antonio Spurs
@FloorandCeilingАй бұрын
It's super early days, but San Antonio is projected to pick at no. 5 right now. I'll be uploading my first big board of the 2025 draft soon, and Demin will be high on that.

Hoping for Egor to the Nets in 2025
@FloorandCeiling2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Brooklyn have 6 picks in 2025 as of now, so they're really well positioned for now. Should also have enough assets presumably to move up or down if they really want.

@@FloorandCeiling Yes, Brooklyn have enough assets to get him. It's on Sean Marks to do what's need to make it happen

He looks pretty raw still. Hopefully he can learn the American style of play at BYU. May need a second year to develop

Thanks for watching! It's tough to predict how European prospects who choose to continue their careers stateside will translate. For instance, I thought Berke Büyüktuncel for UCLA last season had all the tools to make an impact, but he barely played or got a chance under Mick Cronin. Berke is at Nebraska now and all his draft hype is gone (at least for now). Could say that for any of the UCLA guys last year really (Mara, Fibleuil, Jan Vide...) Still, I think there's a big incentive for BYU to do the most possible for Egor to be a one-and-done. The entire program is being revitalized. They're regularly in the mix for the top recruits and, in some cases, getting them. AJ Dybantsa is going to be the biggest test for BYU, but they seemingly have the advantage with him going to Utah Prep. BYU has an NBA-level coach in Kevin Young, increased money so much so that many are deeming BYU a rising NIL powerhouse, and they're starting to get top commits. All that's missing is a recent track record of getting guys to their desired destinations: the NBA.

The kid seems to have multiple qualities: he is tall and has a big wingspan, looks for the pass to his teammate and doesn't seem to have a bad shot, although he is somewhat erratic. In fact he has a 62 of 201 in three-point shots (30.84%) if we add all the competitions of last season and almost 80% in free throws. On defense he doesn't convince me much, but when defending shorter players his size and long arms are enough for him. It's hard to watch Demin play and not be reminded of another point guard of similar height and wingspan: Ben Simmons. Even many of his moves are reminiscent of him. Of course, with a better shot (it's not difficult) and worse defense.
@FloorandCeiling2 ай бұрын
I can see the similarities with Simmons, especially if Demin’s shot does not fall. In addition to the defense like you mentioned, though, Simmons was also a way better and more explosive athlete too. But I think he’s in that adjacent mold that also shares some similarities with coincidentally two other Australian guards in Josh Giddey and Dyson Daniels.

His parents probably were big Letov/Civil Defense fans to name the kid Egor...

Probably Josh Giddey but I think Demin has shown more as a three-point shooter than Giddey had at this stage of his respective development.
