As of Jan 2021, here’s a philly update. New translator on 95.3 FM for WVCH 740. WZMP is now WTDY. New translators on 99.9 for WSNJ 1240 and WHAT 1340. W246AQ is now reach gospel radio. WRNB 100.3 is now modern rnb. New translator on 100.7 for Philly’s Favor. WBEB 101.1 is back to its classic B-101 tag. Fox Sports Gambler is on 102.5 now, a translator for WDAS AM 1480. WPPZ is now WPHI a simulcast of KYW 1060, which was a huge deal. First time they ever had an analog FM signal. First news/talk FM station in Philly since the days of IQ 106.9 and prior to that was WWDB 96.5 which flipped the day before the 2000 presidential election. WISX is now the breeze, easy listening. WPHI 107.9 is now WPPZ Classix, old school funk and the sound of philly.

Actually, WPHI is simulcast of KYW NewsRadio 1060 on 103.9 FM. WPPZ is currently known as Classix 107.9 (formally Praise 107.9 HD1, now Praise is on HD2 subchannel.)

As of April 2024- 88.1 is now WTHA. 88.9 is christian WBZC. 95.3/740 is far-right Jon Fredricks network WJFP. The Breeze 106.1 flipped to spanish WUMR.

The commercial playing on 99.9 mentions Hertrich's, which is a regional car dealership across the Maryland and Delaware parts of the Delmarva. The 99.9 in the area is WWFG-FM out of Ocean City, MD. They put a pretty good signal into the MD/DE parts of the Delmarva and the Cape May area of NJ. No reason you couldn't pick it up (since it was static-y) where you were.

I have the same radio you have. Great FM DX radio though I wish the adjacent channel selectivity could be a little tighter like the Sony XDR-F1HD tuner, which I also have. By the way, great E skip catches.

TBH I'm surprised there are some empty FM channels. I anticipated the FM band would be totally full around these major cities

In the evenings Q102 can reach Easton Pennsylvania area which suggests these Philadelphia stations can travel 60 miles up 611 North towards Easton. You can also do the same thing with Stroudsburg ,PA radio stations those are local if you live around Easton Pennsylvania.

Some of the Philadelphia station be picked up in Easton Pennsylvania area like 102.1 Q102 92.5 XTU although 106.1 has interference with 106.3 North Warren County NJ Belvidere I-80 US-46 corridors. If Dxing from Allentown & Reading Pennsylvania 104.1 is WAEB-FM.

I could of sworn I heard a different song on 104.7 than I did on 104.5 and 104.9. If that is the case, you were likely getting WQHQ from Salisbury, MD.
