Man, this is so refreshing to hear. I was born in '89 and I've missed the beautiful sound of melodic grunge of the 90s so badly! I've had to deal with almost 20 years of terrible-forgettable rock music: Nu-Metal, the nonstop slew of cheesy, goofy, downright terrible indie bands like Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, Deathcab for Cutie and Fallout Boy, of kitschy, forgettable 60's/70's knockoff psychedelic rock like the Strokes and Vines, and the watered down, boring vanilla pop bands such as The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Incubus, Muse, Coldplay and Interpol that tried to pass for rock music and failed miserably. Then hipster indie folk rock came and essentially took over for nearly a decade. While metal has been strong throughout this time I thought rock was essentially dead - until a few years ago when I started learning about a Shoegaze and grunge revival. Thank GOD Gen Z and the young millennials are bringing these sounds back - and even better: in an authentic way instead of just copying bands of the past! The melodies, the tones, the chord progressions and shapes, the variety and range of styles, its such a relief to hear NEW grunge and shoegaze melodies! This is an awesome collaboration! Love this EP!
