probably George Noble even though he was their best member. I would rather watch Your Demise 2004 over this shit.

Speech starting around 1:02:00 is pretty daft. Of course they had bandwagon-jumping fans that quickly disowned them, they were a poor, derivative and generic entry-level hardcore band. I used to know 2 of these guys pre-YD and they absolutely were sellouts, not just because they tried to 'go' pop punk, but because they were edge claiming 'more crucial then you' guys that jumped the bandwagon into streetwear and weed lovers.

Completely agree. This is why George Noble left, and they all tried to paint him to be some sort of psycho. Started when they wanted to tour with Misery Signals (metalcore band with nothing to do with hardcore) and Noble saw what they were trying to do. Then came Ed (inferior vocalist), the 'streetwear' and a couple years later a terrible pop-punk album which they tried to make out was them trying to 'push their horizons.' This band were only ever popular with 16 year olds who had no knowledge of hardcore. Very cringe band.

@bubbacalling Misery Signals were part of hardcore. They had a history in orevious bands like 7 Angels, 7 Plagues and their earlier stuff was in that era of metalcore that had genuine hardcore roots and influence (prior to myspace kids warping the term). They were even on Ferret, a hc label. Early stuff is amazing, by late noughties they were more generic, though. Anyway, what's more incongruous is why such talented musicians would tour with a band as bad as YD, but maybe their entry-level fans bought a lot of tickets. Not only a much worse singer on record, but even worse live. Did they only hite him because they thought he'd be a marketable streetwear-clad frontman for the kids? Totally ripped off Scott Vogel's (Terror frontman) stage patter, too.

Didn't really need the history lesson on Misery Signals, but the bottom line is the 2009 tour with YD was after Misery Signals released 'Controller' - I'm sure you would agree that is most definitely not a hardcore album, but straight up melodic metalcore. I think the tour was meant to launch Misery Signals in the UK as a headline act after they supported Architects earlier in 2009. Your Demise got Ed as the singer because he was a bit different to the generic bro/tuff guy hardcore singer and they were trying to push in a more appealing direction to teenagers. YD were just a better band before he joined to be honest, musically and all round. The early St. Albans shows with George Noble as singer were incredibly fun. @@rumtastic

@bubbacalling Yeah soz, tmi, but im a massive fan of their first couple of albums. Youre right that Controller dirched much of the hardcore. I bet. Zone 6 Records and all that, right?

yeah Zone 6 was the label behind the earlier releases. I actually didn't mind 'Ignorance Never Dies' as an album (minus the drum and bass ambient nonsense inbetween tracks).@@rumtastic
