Egypt dislikes Israel. Don’t let the treaty they share with Israel fool you. When I was there, the vast majority of Egyptians disliked the Israelis, and they were shocked that I even wanted to visit Israel, which I did via a local bus ride through Sinai, all the way to Taba, then Eilat. Love the Egyptian people. Wonderful country. But like almost every other muslim country in that region, they do not want the Israelis there.

In the Western Desert of Egypt there is an empty area large enough to be a nation, much larger than Gaza and the West Bank combined. It is the Qattara Depression. It is a hot sandy waste. If a canal were build from the Mediterranean Sea to the Qattara Depression, water would flow into the depression creating a large inland sea. This would alter the climate of the region, resulting in large areas of empty desert becoming useful agricultural land. Climate change would be reversed in this region. A great harbour could be built in the sea. The inland sea would be an excellent place for a tourist industry. The beaches would be among the best in the world for sun-bathing. Glass bottomed boats could take tourists across the water to places were General Rommel’s abandoned tanks from World War II would be visible on the sea bed. Diving and sailing would be popular. A new nation could be created in this area. The west bank could be called the New West Bank, the east bank could be named New Gaza. The whole are could be named New Palestine. The canal, of course, should be named the Trump Canal. And, of course, you would then move all the Palestinians to New Palestine. Give them freedom and autonomy.
