Egypt To Prosecute Travel Agents For “Unregistered” Hajj Trips After Hundreds Die In Saudi Heatwave

Egypt has ordered 16 tourism companies to be stripped of their licences for illegally facilitating pilgrims’ travel to Mecca. The Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has also referred the managers of these travel firms to the public prosecutor’s office, as per the cabinet. The crackdown came after reports emerged of hundreds of people dying during the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. Most of these deaths have been attributed to extreme heat as temperatures soared past 51 degrees Celsius. An AFP tally on June 21, compiling official statements and reports from diplomats, put the toll at 1,126, with 658 of them from Egypt. Meanwhile, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has ordered that a "crisis cell" headed by Madbouly follow up on the deaths of the pilgrims.

Agencies are supposed to register pilgrims once they make payment for Hajj But there are agencies that have taken advantage of people, taking the money without registering those who paid. Once in Mecca, these pilgrims realized the situation when they were denied access to ventilated areas "for not being registered pilgrims" Hajj is not cheap. Every muslim who has the means to do Hajj must complete it at least once. It isn't unusual for people to perform this religious duty at an advanced age, spending a significant portion of their life savings in the process... How dare those agencies do such a thing, deceiving pilgrims about their registration after taking their money? And how dare Saudi Arabia deny pilgrims (that have no way to know if the agencies did that to them!) in such heat access to ventilated areas? Wanting the responsables of this held accountable is not blasphemy, is having common sense! Is outrageous what happened! Those lies and denies costed many lives!

Future problems can easily be solved if we can avoid emotions. For political reason to supress Umayyads Kingdom, Abbasia Kings stopped Muhammad's Makkah ( in current Jordan) and established present Makkah in Saudi Arabia. All Muslims accepted this transfer. If current Makkah can be accepted, why can't we transfer the time also. Date of Hajj could be fixed at 15th day of February every year. If it is for the benefit of Human being it should not be Haram. Current islam has many false things in it. For instance Mosjidul Al Aksa was built in 703 AD, 73 tears after the death of the prophet. We believe and observe that the prophet ascended to sky from the stairs of the non existent Mosjid.

Gov from the respective country is a part of the wellbeing of worshipers. Gov should establish an organisation to handle those pilgrimage while being there. Malaysia gov for example established tabung haji (hajj fund organisation) for managing people's funds and their well being in Mecca, provide hospitality, buses, foods, amenities, send medical officer (drug, medical machine), post officer, media, guiders, build hotels, build hospital and every Malaysian hotel got clinic. Travel agents don't have those facilities. Saudi does not provide all those things. Every country should arrange all of those before the hajj season starts.
