Egypt is one of the most dangerous and dirty places to visit. Tourists run the risk of harrassment , arrest, torture and murder, not at the hands of thieves and other criminals, but at the hands of the most terrible criminals of all, the police, the army and the innumerable security intelligence organisations that prop up the despotic dictator al-Sisi. read up on the torture and sadistic, perverted murder of more than twenty thousand students both male and female every year, by the secret police and their agents. Tourists regularly disappear and no-one asks questions or give replies. The Italian government have for years attempted to un-cover the full truth about the kidnapping, torture, homosexual rape and murder of a young Italian student, Giulio Regeni, by four high ranking members of the Egyptian army. The charges arrived at, after extensive attempts to discover the truth, in the face of total non-co-operation by the Egyptian authorities resulted in the following limited charges, being brought in an Italian court; "General Tariq Sabir, Colonel Usham Helmi and Colonel Athar Kamel Mohamed Ibrahim face kidnapping charges, while Major Magdi Ibrahim Abdelal Sharif is also accused of causing “grievous body harm” and “aggravated murder”. If you have childern, DO NOT LET THEM TRAVEL TO EGYPT.

@@worldwildhearts i have heating units lol 😜 Egypt wasn’t always like that btw, 15 years ago winter wasn’t as cold and it was much shorter than this, summer was way longer, now winter starts from around oct to April and summer is in July and August, we have been getting more rain, hail and snow if you can believe it. And i have never seen the snow part up till 5 years ago. That’s why you will find that people aren’t reliant on indoor heating cause up till recently The majority of us didn’t need it. I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay and I hope you would revisit, by next time the bullet train will be up and running, 4 hours from cairo to aswan

Most American chain restaurants are available in abundance in Egypt, even the smaller obscure ones. Most of these Egypt youtube videos like to show you the exotic stuff from a tourist perspective, but there are plenty of places in Egypt, especially Cairo where you wouldn't feel like you're outside of the US .. western designed neighborhoods/cities, communities, Malls etc.. As long time travellers but older now 85 and 76 we are thinking of going to Egypt. We are thinking of succumbing to a package tour to take away a lot of the stress of travelling, but as solo travellers we still want the freedom of travel. We have the time, so what would your advice and when, where and how to travel. We like to take breaks in between excursions. Thanks enjoyed your videos
@worldwildhearts
@worldwildhearts 2 жыл бұрын
We’d definitely recommend doing the Nile cruise and spend some time in both Aswan and Luxor. There’s many excursions you can do there and it’s actually better with a guide as they would explain all the history. The coast is also gorgeous and we really loved Dahab, it’s easy to spend a few weeks there as solo travelers. It’s very relaxed but there’s also some beautiful snorkelling! We spent two weeks there. There’s also Sharm el Sheikh or Hurghada at the coast if you like a bit more upscale resorts. As for Cairo, I wouldn’t spend too much time there as it’s very busy / dirty. Definitely get a guide if you want to visit the Pyramids of Giza. Basically, opt for excursions in the more historical places but go at your own pace / solo travel at the beach destinations

Great video. Planning to travel with a 4 year old at the beginning of august. Unfortunately that’s the only time of the year we can go at the moment. Our concern is heat. Especially when you go inside the pyramids. Would you recommend us not going at all due to the heat. We have 10 days. Planning 2-3 days in Giza and Cairo and then doing 3 day Nike cruise. Is there anywhere else would you recommend us to go that is also child friendly. Snorkelling looked interesting…

August can be very very hot indeed! Talked to our friend from Egypt yesterday and she said it’s about 40C right now in Cairo. The only cooler area in Egypt is the north coast and Alexandria. Other places are hot! But depends on your comfort level. Other kids-friendly places would be Turkey, Greece, Portugal, etc. also warm, but usually with an ocean breeze
