Oh yeah they are super quiet, I have even upgraded to the biggest one. Still quiet. From time to time you may hear the pump become louder but that is because the pump needs to be maintained. There maybe something blocking the intake or a dirty pump. Best rule is to clean pumps every 4/6 months if your able to. To keep all your pumps working for as long as possible

If you change the grill (stock grill) with the tube grill (the one on the plastic packing) can you still adjust the flow rate?

Can this pump be used for overhead sump filters? Curious to know since im looking to build my own sump and cant find much info on these pumps for that particular use.

Hey chasmorify! It depends on the application, now it doesn't have a mount or suction cups on the side to hold it to the tank. The pump I bought isn't pushing a huge amount of water so if you wanting a slower flow pump. I would recommend more the maxi jet line weather it be the marineland version or cobalt.

I found the feet easy, you line it up straight and twist back and forward. Went on very easily.

Hey berjer a 250 liter tank would be way to big for this pump, line. These are more for smaller tanks or tanks half your size.
