Eheim Vivaline LED 240 review - Deutsche Übersetzung in Beschreibung

This tank has been set up for around one month. It's high quality and the cabinet is easy to build. However, if you want to grow aquatic plants you will need to upgrade the lighting. I have added a Fluval Plant Spectrum LED 46 watt. The filter provided is excellent but I would recommend adding an extra one for crystal water. Be aware that if you do add an extra filter or light and you haven't purchased Eheim's own products, then the lid will not fit on to the tank. So if this is a problem I would only purchase Eheim's own line of filter and lights.

Thanks Steve! Yeah nice tank choice, the Eheim Vivaline is definitely a sleek modern tank. The extra lighting does help with the plant growth coupled with CO2.

Thanks Chillen, the fluval light brackets are too tall (by about 5mm) to fit into the recess unfortunately. When I set the tank up initially I tried putting the fluval in the recess, but in the end I've had to just place it over the top. Take care and all the best with your new set up.

I have a quick question for you, if you don't mind me asking. Did the tank have an Internal filter, that was glued to the inside of the tank? For example, the Juwel has them, since i had a juwel 180 and i hated that filter was using space . Thank you!

Hi Victor, no there was no internal filter glued inside of the tank. It did come with an external Eheim ecco pro 300 filter. If you do get your own brand of external filter like I did then the tank lid may be unable to close, as the filter cut outs at the back of the tank aren't deep. I would recommend just getting external Eheim filters if the tank lid not closing is a problem. It's a shame really that they didn't make the cut outs larger. All the best!

@@danieljensen6714 Thank you so much for the answer. I did already ordered a different filter, since i know the EccoPro 300 is not good for a 250L aquarium. I went with a Fluval Fx4. As far as the lightning goes, i just purchased an extra Eheim ProPlant lamp, that will go side by side with the one provided.

Hi Daniel I'm thinking of purchasing this tank or the fluval one of similar size. I prefer the cabinet option colours on these so am leaning towards this. With the lid/lighting struggling to work jt out? Is there a glass lid / screen or is it an open top? Concerned fish could jump out? Also you mentioned additional lighting, was that easy to fix into existing tank?

Hi Welsh. Yeah the tank comes with a sliding aluminium lid. I had to remove the aluminium lid to fit an extra (Fluval branded) lighting unit. On my tank I have removed the lid because of this extra light. If you want to keep the aluminium lid on the tank just buy an extra Eheim branded light. Also with the Eheim light, supposedly there is some sort of adaptor you can buy, so that you don't have two lighting cables if you purchase an extra Eheim light. Instead the adaptor combines both cables into one. Everything that is branded Eheim e.g. filters and lights will fit this tank without modification. This is the thing with Eheim though, it is quite costly - due to the upgrades and really the tank is more suited to Ehiem branded items. If you do get Ehiem stuff though it is a neat set up as the lights sit on a lip beneath the lid. Take it easy 👍

Thanks. As long as it's 120cm long it should fit the tank. Unfortunately, I think if it isn't Ehiem then the lid will not close, as I haven't seen any that are as slim as Ehiem. I used a fluval light and that seemed good, however it is quite expensive 👍

@@danieljensen6714 I see, tx, expensive options because of the attach mechanism. It s important for me to be able to use the upper cover of the tank, I don t like open tanks due to evaporation and light outside the aquarium. I guess I ll just invest in another eheim led thingy, I just hope they last in time. Btw, do you have any option to control the light intensity of those leds?:)

@@thehardcorecasual9444 Yeah indeed expensive, there isn't a way of controlling the intensity of the lights either. I do think Eheim sells two types, a brighter version for plants and a standard version. 👍

Hi, thanks for the nice video. I have vivaline 126 in eshop basket for weeks but i do not like eheim lights, neither I want to leave aquarium open... is there anybody who now what other (better) light fits Eheim trail in this set and can be used under to cover?

Enjoy your journey into fishkeeping. I'm not too sure about other slim LED lights, and I think slim LED lights would be more expensive anyway, so I'd stay with Eheim. Sehr schönes Aquarium! Wie siehts aber mit deiner Katze und dem Aquarium aus? Verträgt sich das gut? Gerade weil es oben offen ist. Wir haben zwei Katzen und ich möchte mir demnächst auch ein Aquarium zulegen, wäre super wenn du mir helfen und antworten könntest!

Meiner Katze geht es mit offenem Deckel gut, sie balanciert auf dem Aquarienrand und beobachtet die Fische. Da ich oben zwei Lichter habe, gibt es nur ein wenig freien Raum, in den sie fallen kann. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, wie gut Ihre Katze im Gleichgewicht sein wird, aber bisher ist meine Katze nach zwei Jahren noch nicht ins Aquarium gefallen. Die Katze trinkt aus irgendeinem Grund auch das Wasser aus dem Aquarium, also müssen wir sie verscheuchen. My cat is fine with the lid being open, she balances on the rim of the aquarium and watches the fish. Because I have two lights on top, there is only a little bit of open space for her to fall into. I'm not sure how good your cat will be at balancing, but so far my cat has not fallen in the aquarium after two years. The cat also drinks the water from the aquarium for some reason, so we have to scare her away.

Great tank. What do you think of the Fluval Roma 240? I guess I'm weighing up between the Roma and Vivaline.

Thanks Dominic. I like both the Roma and Vivaline. The Fluval Roma has a nice solid cabinet. The Fluval cabinet has no feet though, so I couldn't use shims to level it. Instead I opted for the Vivaline which has feet that I was able to place shims under. My floor is ridiculously unlevel. While I was working in a fish shop, all the display tanks were Fluval, they would get bashed around but nothing would ever break on them. So I think both tanks are a good quality option.

Hi Daniel, very nice Aquarium! I think about buying the same. I would like to get the same wood color also. But can't find it on the EHEIM vivalineLED Homepage: eheim.com/en_GB/aquatics/aquariums/aquariums-fresh-water/vivalineled/vivalineled-240?number=0613067. The color that comes near is "Pinie" but it looks much brighter than yours. Is it just the picture or what color is your Aquarium in the video?

Hi Susanne, the colour of my tank is Oak Grey. The one you have found I haven't seen that colour before, maybe the picture is just brighter. I can't be sure in all honesty. @@danieljensen6714 I was confused because the color "Oak Grey" looks much brighter and more greyish than the warm wood color shown in your video. Probably it looks different, because the catalogue picture was made in bright studio light. Thank you for making clear and I wish you lots of fun with your beautiful aquarium!
