Rating 2/5 First time trying the beef Biriyani from the Dubai branch on Eid Day (Yummy house restaurant). Was very excited to try Sri Lankan style wedding biriyani as I was told the biriyani in Dubai is made in the exact same style as Firnas’s videos. However, extremely disappointed and here’s why: 1) collected the food at c. 12pm as instructed, however the rice was only mildly warm and by the time I reached home (20mins) it got cold. I assume the dum was broken atleast couple of hours ago. 2) the rice was a little raw, samba was not cooked. Probably dum was broken early. 3) masala was concentrated and in chunks in some areas which made some sections of the rice overpowering 4) the green peas was so bland, overcooked and didn’t have any cashews 5) Acharu looked very low quality, lacked color and flavor 6) extremely small fried chicken. Considering the ample poultry available in Dubai, the chicken offered in the sawan was a baby chicken (probably 500/600 grams) Only positive was the beef was soft even though I felt the beef quantity was not enough for a standard sawan. Overall I think there is a gap in the making process in Dubai vs the videos posted by Firnas. Would love to try the biriyani made by Firnas himself one day in Dubai before coming to a final conclusion.
