Borno State Deputy Governor,H.E Alhaji Umar Usman Kadafur, the emir of Biu Alhaji Mustapha Umar Mustapha II CON, member representing Biu at the state assembly Hon. Yakubu Kimba led thousands of Muslims at the Eid-el-Fitr prayer which held at the Mai Umar Mustapha Stadium in Biu town.
Delivering his sermon, the chief Imam Idaini of Biu Imam Mohammad Yusuf Kida highlighted the significance of fasting for six days during the month of Shawwal in sustaining the virtues of Islam among the Muslims. He had while quoting some Qur'anic verses and Hadith to buttress his point, implored the congregation to pray for lasting peace and prosperity in the state and the country at large.
Shortly after the two Raka'at session, the emir of Biu Alhaji Mustapha Umar Mustapha, admonished the people of Biu to desist from felling of trees considering ecological hazards associated with such practice, emphasizing that any offender found wanting will face the full wrath of the law by the state government.
He equally urged farmers to gear up for their farming activities, as rainy season is fast approaching while enjoining them to maintain a healthy relationship with the pastoralists to avoid clashes.
Alhaji Mustapha Umar Mustapha II thanked the state govern seement for the palliative distributed to southern Borno during the month of Ramadan, while equally praising the deputy governor Dr. Umar Usman Kadafur for celebrating the Eid in his hometown.
