Something cool i noticed on the 5th watch of the video is that whenever is switches to the “Eviscerate” mask character they are actually moving backwards while with the “Mend” mask they are moving forward in the sunlight. I think that must be on purpose and is really cool narratively and as a metaphor for the struggle to follow our better angels when our demons are clawing us back! Dig this song more and more with each listen! 💪🤟🔥

Yeah man I thought the same thing cause the interpretation I get when I hear this song is that it’s about overcoming struggles in a way a sense of rebirth and that it’s about moving forward. Hence why we see Andrew and the mask either helping him or hindering him from progress but that how I see it especially with the tones and light colors
Shaking my head because I can't understand how a band can be this good.

Look, eviscerate was cool, i like it, but it was not really my cup of tea. The heavy riffage was on fire and Matt sounded like never before (love this guy voice on that one) but the cleans seemed off to me most of the time. Like if the producer were not familiar with soaring, funky and bluesy sound. Now this. This is fire. This is the album I was waiting for. The Architect 2, but funkier and poppier. I love it! ❤

Coming back to throw my own opinion on how this could be about tilian lol 😅 “blow my voice til you get the concept”. Andrew literally had throat surgery while singing frontman-vocals for both DGD and Eidola and didn’t quit on either band. “You can barely talk. What makes you think you can sing?” 👀
@_tokii__Күн бұрын
@@zackcochran4924 I hate to believe it's about Tilian, but some of the lyrics definitely seem aimed towards that way. Especially the "my brovado knows no bounds, that's why they call me king" In War Machine, Tilian sang "pure chaos finally made me bleed, fumbling my bravado." I just hope the use of the term Bravado is a coincidence

No, he actually said the opposite lol- that the first one was supposed to be a bridge between the heavy album n this poppy/softer album. I think he said that there will be one (or possibly two- can't remember) more on the album that are "heavy'ishhhhhh"- or just not 100% "not-heavy", but the rest will all be softer/"poppier".

I'm actually thinking that that was supposed to be saying "you guys always say that we sound like DGD or that I'm copying Will's writing-style (despite Andrew having written many DGD riffs since Mothership lol), but what about NOW? Does THIS sound like DGD???", since it (hopefully to most people) doesn't really sound like them whatsoever here lol. Did see a comment above saying that "I was JUST saying that this sounded like DGD too!", so idfk lol.

I actually prefer the "in between" stuff more lol. TSTL and The Architect were some of, if not my #1 favorite albums ever (with Degen n Eviscerate being mostly equally in 3rd place, but Degen being a bit "higher"), which both has also made Eidola/Andrew one of, if not my #1 favorite bands/artists ever, n yeah, while I am fairly happy with all the newer stuff, I do honestly wish that Andrew would have just continued the "6string guitar complex lead-centric"/"not-suuuper-chuggy-but-chugs-sprinkled-in" music, with the softer n harder parts spread throughout the album. Ohhhh well, is what it is. Glad that he's doing DGD vocals now (at least kinda for the time being?) with the focus being more so on the Secret Band sound- will be interesting to hear that goes.

@daveF1993 from what Andrew's told me, you probably won't like most of the new album, unfortunately. But it was written to wrap up a carefully crafted 6-album saga, not to cater to the band's newest fans (although, for accessibility reasons, the lyrics were increasingly simplified).
