This information is vital to change the negative trajectory of literacy in our states. Emily Hanford, Kareem Weaver, and Dr. Kymyona Burk clearly explain the literacy/illiteracy problem and why so many children struggle to read and show that there are solutions. Spread this youtube to increase awareness in your school and community. We all need to care about this issue- especially if you are a taxpayer, and if you care about children.

I don’t remember how I learned to read either. I just remember how much I loved going to the library because I couldn’t wait to be lost in all the stories that awaited me in the books. I also greatly enjoyed listening to the librarian read a story. I just loved Stephen Kellogg books. Especially the illustrations. My children also know how to read.
