The THVN and transmision tower logo as well as the Station ID opening have a significant upgrade two years later since VTV is transitioning into modernizing their station after the lifting of US embargo ban (which came into effect after the fall of Saigon in 1975) that same year when this was recorded.

the music for the program listing and the opening is that of the song Người Hà Nội (The Hanoian). the countdown music is the same as in '92, of the song Lãnh tụ Ca (Song of the Leader).

the animation sequence for những bông hoa nhỏ is much cleaner than the other version you posted, which is basically the only other extant copy. it is wonderful. vtv tapes are unlikely to be better than this bootleg, since they have deteriorated a lot, and they have a tradition of misplacing them lol. thanks eifeldx!

Well they are a communist country that was just starting to open up at this point in time, so they obviously were trying to pay catch-up during the 90's. I can tell they had an Amiga computer on these graphics.

Christopher Sobieniak Actually we have been open since 1987 when HTV in HCM City launch HTV7, then an advertisement channel that showed nothing but adverts, VTV probably start selling ads around that time. Revenue from ads helps VTV and HTV to improve its equipment

I get the impression they had a Commodore Amiga computer going by the way the titles and animation are shown in some of these bits. The fonts are very Deluxe Paint-ish.

It takes a lot of effort to preserve these recordings of TV channels and TV shows. Some TV stations back then simply didn't have enough money to build a proper archiving facility to ensure their video tapes and reels are free from dust, fungus and humidity damages.

I didn't have a chance to see this before because I'm a Y2K kid :)). I personally think that our television at that time was not bad at all, maybe just because we didn't have enough facillities or lack of TVs. Anyway, thank you for the good old days. Maybe I can see record from 2000 as well :))

It was still pretty good in 2010 and 2011, but nowadays entertaining programmes on television are a lot but the quality is so bad!

This guy likely had free to air satellite equipment that allowed him to receive satellite broadcasts around the world, and he recorded it on VHS.

1) EifelDX is German 2) He travelled a lot for sure. I've even seen a reply from him in a video that's 3 years old as of now that he can manage to basically decode any analogic signal (NTSC, PAL, SECAM...). A lot of his uploads are Satellite receptions though. He might be very well located, or he used to move his parabolic reciever from time to time...
