I was there and this man was an absolute Gent! He even said a personal message to my daughter in the voice of Mr Krabs which was really nice of him. He was the ONLY one (no pun intended) who showed up for this and personally I think it was horrible. Most of the actors in the film were Scottish and this man flew in from L.A to be there with the long-standing fans (like my Dad and myself) and he did not dissapoint! He also kindly answered questions for around 45 minutes with everyone including his own family who were at the screening. I bought these tickets for my Dad for a Fathers day present as we are lifelong Highlander and Queen fans and because of Clancy Brown it is the best Fathers day we have ever had and ever will have. Clancy, you my good man are a f****** LEGEND!!! (And EASILY the best in the film)! "There can be only one... Clancy Brown"!

I was the person interviewing Clancy in this video, and it was this that inspired me to write a book on the film, A Kind of Magic: Making the Original Highlander. He spoke a bit more about his time on the film while here on the red carpet, but told me more the next day in a longer interview, including why he turned down Highlander 2 and some issues with his punk costume. This led me to interview 60 more cast and crew, including Christopher Lambert, Russell Mulcahy, Roxanne Hart and Hugh Quarshie, plus Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen. No he was better then Darth Vader... he didn't need a mask or James Earl Jones to voice over... he did a Master class performance of a truly monstrous intimidating human being with nothing but wardrobe changes. ... and no redemption, no reason to feel bad for him being put in the ground in the end. IMHO, Clancy Brown is one of the top 5 villains in the history of motion pictures. Always on top of his game, with every villain performance he leave me thinking, "Damn, sure wouldn't want to meet THAT guy in a dark alley.... or anywhere in broad daylight for that matter". To hear from several different actors & directors what a nice guy he is off camera , clearly affirms Clancy's tremendous acting ability. His voice overs for about a gazillion animated characters cements the man's talent & versatility.

Clancy Brown is one of the most iconic villains not only of the '80s but of all time. I got to meet a lot of famous people in my profession but unfortunately I never got to meet him. One hell of an actor and does a lot of voice work too. Not only did the man never burn out but he's definitely never faded away!!!! Just from this interview he really seems like somebody I would really like to know seems like a down-to-earth cool guy. That's funny too because he was one of the most intimidating villains of his time.

Clancy Brown was never paid one penny for his outstanding portrayal of the villain in Highlander. While others made millions, he received no retainer, no saliery, no bonus, no residuals, no nothing. Such an injustice to such a good actor and great human being!

Yes. This actor is very underrated. Isn’t it interesting that both he and James Earl Jones are used for their deep voices often, but aren’t seen nearly as often on screen? The Kurgan is my favorite villain; wild, crazy, and someone who looks forward to being able to take off the heads of other immortals. He's unrepentantly evil and he's having a good time doing it. Despite his punk-rocker thug image he's got a touch of sophistication that sometimes shows through in certain scenes making your realize this guy is a lot worse than he appears. I keep saying this but Clancy Brown is one of the most underrated actors of all time.

I was one of the extras for the 4 days they shot the battle scenes where Rannoch Moor runs into Glencoe, we were cold and wet for the whole shoot. Our feet were soaking on day one, so wardrobe fixed us up with hessian covered wellies. Watch closely, you’ll see. Also my brother spotted me next to the Kurgan’s horse when we all cheer. The criteria for being an extra was long hair and a beard, so we were all metal heads, bikers and hippies. I was the latter at the time. We didn’t mix with the actors, though I have a picture of me standing next to the Kurgan’s horse and one when makeup put a wee scar on me. I thought Clancy Brown quite aloof at the time, but everything I’ve seen since explains why. And equally that my first impression was completely wrong.
