As I was watching this video, I looked outside and it was a blizzard, living in Canada is sometimes challenging. Australia looked inviting, and your show was welcome.

I have the Lespedeza thunbergii in my Utah, USA 7a yard. Can’t kill it or dig it up….I tried! I planted it too close to the sidewalk, so have to tame it in the fall so it doesn’t grab people as they walk by. It gets mostly filtered sun and loves it’s spot.

💕🌟Thanks Stephen and Matthew, such colours and foliage.💖🌿🌺🌸 We are in spring, here in the UK, so there are lots of budding and flowers starting to appear. I'll definately buy some of your suggestions for the autumn. 👍

As a Calhoun who can trace their lineage directly back to the original Colquhoun family of the 1200s... I really want Colquhounia in my garden now & it should do well in my USDA hardiness zone 9b garden 😁 just have to find space for it.

Well here's a weird one - I got one of the tradescantia sillamontana from the big green box hardware store most Australians will be familiar with in the houseplant section in one of the tiny pots that cost about $5. Marked down to $1 as it was half drowned by their staff.

What an interesting array of autum flowering plants. Just a feast for hummingbirds here in Washington USA. Are there any hummingbird breeders down there? The droopy pink clusters on the shrub from China is my favorite (excuse me, I just woke up and didn't take notes of Latin name. While in Latin class in school 8th grade (called middle school now) I thought, "What will I ever need Latin for?") Thanks for the plant list! I will need to look them up to see if any will thrive in my USDA plant zone 8b. Do you ever plant specifically for butterflies? Thanks very much for the enjoyable video.🦋

We don't have hummingbirds in Australia although we do have lots of nectar feeding honeyeaters that take advantage of the flowers. Regards Stephen

@@thehorti-culturalists No, I know you don't, therefore my question about hummingbird breeders in Australia. Can't they be bred y acclimated there?
