I think it would sound as alien to them as the original 80s songs, because these are mostly note-for-note recreations of the songs with acoustic instruments, the song structures and melodies remain unchanged, and some mainstays of medieval instrumentation are notably absent.

The internet is fine, it's a home for introverts, for people who are stuck in remote places and for people who were pushed out of belonging to a group because they were different in some way. Making friends and spending my life online definitely beat growing up ostracised in an anglican school for being a quiet, shy guy. As a millennial I grew up under gen-x and generally speaking, all your generation did for us was mess up our housing market to a point most millennials and gen Z won't ever afford homes, and also raised half of us as outcasts and the half as those who relentlessly bullied sed outcasts growing up. You had some good music though
@blackblade1286
@blackblade1286 Жыл бұрын
@@Shinobi_Fox And here we have it again: victim blaming. It's all what many people nowadays can do, especially the younger generations (now I sound old LOL). That's why so many people do not get anywhere, because they give everyone else the fault for all of their first world problems they face. Take up some ownership, some responsibility, stop complaining and do something useful with your life. It somehow doesn't surprise me why everything gets more and more woke nowadays. This is the symptom of a society which gets more and more fragile. I cannot afford a house either, do I blame others for this? Shall I do it like you and blame the baby boomers? Come on... The system is far from perfect, I agree...there is still room for a lot of improvement, but do you complaining (usually left orientied) people realize, we live in a time where we have it better than ever before (especially in the western world)? There was never a time everything came so easy to us. Maybe because everything is so easy and so comfortable, we complain more than ever? By the way: I am in introvert too, I was bullied too as a child, I didn't have many friends either back then, but I never (not even as a small boy) had the need to be part of a group to feel good about myself or to have a self-identity. Over the years I learned to socialize and show extrovert traits where needed. I would argue, the bullying I faced, made me mentally rather stronger and made me see things from another perspective, compared to others who were never bullied. There are some healthy life lessons one can learn, if not everything always runs smoothly, easy and according to plan. We need to face uncomfortable situations, lose and fall on our face to grow (and grow some thicker skin). If everything is always nice and happy one stays fragile. Have a thought about my reply and maybe frame your life a bit differently...can make a big change! ;)

We actually DO have a tune from c1380 doing well in the ClassicFM Top 300 Classical Charts right now! Sir Karl Jenkins (formerly of Soft Machine) has one of the more recent resamples of a French folksong at about #30, The Armed Man, which in the 1430s was picked up by Guillaume Dufay as part of an academic argument for major social reform - it turned out to be the Renaissance. It's been resampled about 80 times between, making it the longest-running thread in history short of major religions.

Think of how that crazy guy Alfred Matthew Yankovic made his fame. All he did was take songs that he though were interesting and transformed them in to his own comical traslation!! Some of your songs make me smile with the way they've been translated, and other ones take me to a different level of, wow, this sound amazing, it connects with my soul!

Very fun! It might sound more medieval if you raised the "flute" an octave and slowed the BPM a little.

I prefer hearing it in original BPM, makes it funnier for some reason as if you forced Guns N Roses to play with medieval instruments in the middle of a show lolol

How did You Tube know I watched Jepardy over the air? Journey, "Growing Up in South Detroit" Was part of a question re-aired on 24-aug-2023. Ken said there is no south Detroit. Music is wonderful in that way Ah-ha (1980s LOL),

Just discovered this and now listening to everything I can get my hands on, medieval style. If you are looking for further inspiration, one of my all time favourites is the Safety Dance by Men Without Hats, and hearing this transformed by your esteemed selves would be a transcendent experience!

This is the most strangely fascinating and amazing thing I have ever heard! I love 80s music and I could recognize absolutely every song. At first it was really confusing to my brain but then it was great, I laughed a lot and enjoyed it quite a bit, I listened to the whole playlist. I would play this playlist at a Sherk themed party, it would be awesome. Thanks for making this masterpiece. 🎉
