Take it a step at a time, a day at a time. Philippine bureaucracy can be extremely frustrating but stressing only makes it worse. It will get fixed at some point so try to focus on that and familiarizing yourself with the people you may have to deal with more than once in immigration. Getting contacts can/will be useful. Good luck. Things will pan out eventually.

oh my god, I hate these moments too..boarders..and passports...I had lost mine once and found it again. while registering as lost, I registered it back as found, all was good, until I got over the france boarder and he took my new passport , because it had been once registered as lost from e and took it away from me and said I couldnt proove it was me:)))))my jaw dropped

Greetings from NYC: why didn’t you just staples the old passport to the new one? Here in the US, if a visitor gets a No Exp Date (non expiration) visa, they just staple the passports together….
